Book Description

May 5, 2008 0199234183 978-0199234189
Here is an updated version of the Oxford Spellchecker & Dictionary on CD-ROM which is now compatible with Windows(R) Vista, as well as Windows(R) XP and Windows(R) 2000. It fully integrates with Microsoft(R) Office and replaces the Microsoft(R) spellchecker on installation to give you Oxford-preferred spellings in all your documents, emails, and correspondence. But this is more than just a spellchecker--it is also an electronic dictionary. The dictionary link allows you to check meanings and usage, or to look up words independently. It uses the unrivalled authority of Oxford dictionaries to give you definitions of more than 200,000 words from the Oxford Dictionary of English. You can set your default language to American or British English. You can also specify whether you want to default to -ise or -ize spellings as standard, for example whether realise, prioritise or realize, prioritize. You can also receive warnings of commonly confused words and spellings--like principal and principle, or stationary and stationery--so you can always be certain that you are using the correct term in the correct way. Based on the authority of Oxford dictionaries, this program offers a wealth of reliable and accurate advice.
