5.0 out of 5 stars A new Christmas Tradition November 28, 2009
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
Oxhorn's Christmas for Geeks by Brandon M. Dennis is a collection of parody songs and skits based around the World of Warcraft environment. The collection is much like listening to a Christmas Television Show, where they mix song with small skits.

Brandon opens with a parody on "I saw three ships (come sailing in)" with a Gaelic version of "I saw Three Rogues". The song is upbeat and funny.

"Elf Ears Roasting on an Open Fire" based on "Chestnuts Roasting on a Open Fire" is a cozy version of the old classic describing various Alliance-type meals.

"Frosty" is a reading by Mister Evil, a character from many of his movies.

Next is "Vanity Pets" which is the parody of "Little Drummer Boy". In this haunting version, the singer proclaims his love of vanity pets and what he'd do for them.

Track five, "Night Elves We Have Strung on High", is a rock version of "Angels We Have Heard On High". A fun version about the virtues of defeating Elves

In "Merry Breakfast", Brandon goes caroling with friends, but Thunk doesn't quite get it.

"Hark! Hear the Wails" based on "Hark! Hear the Bells" is an a capella remix of a previously released song by Brandon.

In "Secret Santa", Hat, Oxhorn, Mister Evil, and Mortuus get together for a secret Santa festival and the pitfalls of the tradition.

"We Three Dwarves of Ironforge" is a parody of "We Three Kings is a gruff song about the nature of Dwarves.

Track 10 is a story reading by Mister Evil about a mechanical Nutcracker and the importance of wording commands carefully to a goblin contraption. All the while Nathan Allan Pinard plays a delighful "Nutcracker-like music" in the background.

"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like This Raid Isn't Going to Happen" is a parody of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" about the follies of raiding.

"Rudolph" is a skit about the most famous reindeer.

"I'm Dreaming of an Epic Flying Mount" is the jazzy parody of "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas".

"The Orna-print" Salesman is a skit of those pushy sellers you always hear.

"Joy to the World" Finale starts with Brandon and Nathan chatting about Christmas, before Brandon sings the traditional song.

And finally, with "Outtakes" you get to laugh at Brandon and his many attempts at getting things perfect.

"Oxhorn's Christmas for Geeks" is the perfect collection of songs for those that want to smile about normal traditional songs with Brandon's familiar twist of wit based on the World of Warcraft. Nathan Allan Pinard's arrangement is perfect for each selection and brings more ambiance to each track. The combination of the two produces a high quality product that will delight everyone who has ever seen any of Brandon's work as well as anyone who just likes to giggle at those silly Christmas specials.

This would make a great stocking stuffer for anyone.

Ever consider a second job after that of Daily Gamer. Consider Oxhorn's example of a profitable career. Masterfully done and "It is not just for Christmas!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good album December 4, 2009
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a very fun CD to listen to. It's great for in the car or at home or work. Also, kids love this one.

Oxhorn/Brandon M. Dennis has done a wonderful job with this collection and all the songs/skits on it are excellent.

The first song, "I Saw Three Rogues," is a very funny take on an old Christmas classic, as is his rendition of "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire", which he titles "Elf Ears Roasting on an Open Fire."

The first skit in the album, "Frosty", is a very funny view of everyone's favorite snowman - with a twist.

The next song in the album, "Vanity Pets," based on "Little Drummer Boy", is a quirky song sung to a haunting melody, much like that of some of Mendelssohn's works.

"Night Elves We Have Strung on High" is probably my favorite song in the album, with its cheers of "KILL ALL ELVES!". It's set to a rock beat much like Trans-Siberian Orchestra's music.

"Merry Breakfast" is one of those skits where you feel like you know what will happen the second or third time through the caroling, but it definitely ends with a surprise.

His next song, "Hark! Hear the Wails", is based off of a song known to me as "Ukranian Bell Carol." It's also the Burger King theme song. Very good and funny rendition of it.

The third skit in the album, "Secret Santa," is about the Oxhorn cast's failure to do anything right in a secret Santa. Has everyone's favorite turtle, Hat, in it.

"We Three Dwarves of Ironforge" is one of those great Christmas-turned-drinking songs. Excellent song.

Oxhorn's next skit, "Nutcracker", is about a giant nutcracker built by a goblin that goes on a rampage through a bunch of stupid orcs.

"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like This Raid Isn't Going to Happen" is a fun poke at the makers of World of Warcraft, and some of the people who play it.

"Rudolph" is the next skit, about reindeer, lawyers, and Santa.

"I'm Dreaming of an Epic Flying Mount" is based on "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" and is a very funny, but kind of sad story about a guy who spends his life playing World of Warcraft to get to ride on a flying mount.

"The Orna-Print Salesman" is a skit that makes fun of the Figure-Prints collection that World of Warcraft produces. They all have really high prices and not many people buy the figures.

"Joy to the World Finale" is the last song in the album, but it's definitely one of the funniest with Brandon singing almost as high-pitched as he can to get the high notes.

"Outtakes FTW" is all of the failed attempts (all of them funny) of Oxhorn's attempts to get the songs/skits right.

Overall, this is a great collection and would make a perfect gift for any nerd/geek in the family.
