5.0 out of 5 stars Unreal results
Many trips out west and staying at high altitudes always resulted in hugh headaches. That is until I tried the Oxia personal oxygen bottle. In a few short blasts I felt better and within a short time was joyfully relieved of my headache. I also used it after long ski runs and found it brought me right back to normal breathing. The refillable bottle was a real plus being...

1.0 out of 5 stars Much anticipated, big letdown, high price!
I had been eying these Oxia canisters every time I visited Hotel Zaza. They were a unique feature in the mini-bar, which has expanded to include all sorts of unique luxuries; the "personal oxygen system" drew the most attention, being the first of its kind I'd ever seen. But also sporting the highest price: with the hotel markup, $75.

I held out. But on my...

I held out. But on my wedding day, when the ladies spent the day getting our makeup and hair done, sipping champagne and munching on hors d'oeuvres in the bridal suite, my mom was in an ultra party mood and said "what the heck, let's order a few! We can use the high!"

Well, we were too excited by our own natural giddiness to notice any effects, or rather lack thereof, that day. But for days later, I dutifully huffed at the canister, as I had wound up with several. I continued to notice absolutely NOTHING, far from all the promises made by the maker. I didn't want to waste good money, though the cost a few canisters were a drop in the bucket in the frenzy of wedding spending.

But I was SO let down, after months of curiosity and desire, to find they offered none of the energy, serenity, rejuvenation, good mood, or pain relief described.

This was in *2008*. I see that their price has not gone down, even though cheaper versions are on the market. NOR HAS THE PRODUCT IMPROVED, across the board, among all competitors.

As someone suffering chronic pain, anxiety, and depression, the promises of pure oxygen seduced me, but left me bitterly jilted (unlike my wonderful husband!) if anyone can suggest a GOOD personal oxygen system, at a reasonable price, please leave a comment!

In a few short blasts I felt better and within a short time was joyfully relieved of my headache. I also used it after long ski runs and found it brought me right back to normal breathing. The refillable bottle was a real plus being as "green" oriented as I am. I found sending back the empty and always having a new refill easy and the best way to help both in and out of altitude when I push the limit a bit too much. A must for anyone who stays or goes above 5,000 feet and for heavy exercise. Great company to do business with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for high altitude!, October 24, 2011
This review is from: Oxia Portable Personal Oxygen O2 Dispenser Small (Health and Beauty)
Bought Oxia at a local store in Aspen this summer for $50 after the staff highly recommended it for relieving my headaches and shortness of breath because of the high altitude. I had been to the mountains before and felt like crap for the first 2 days until I acclimated, but always lost those first 2 days of my vacation. Oxia helped a great deal and seemed to have a ton of oxygen in it. I took about 10 breaths at first, then another 10 breaths about 10 minutes later and noticed that my headache started to go away within 30 minutes. I used it on my hikes every time I got out of breath and was able to catch my breath and keep hiking, it helped a great deal. I used up the bottle within the first 2 days, but then was able to bring the empty bottle back and exchange it for a "refill" for only $15!! What a great deal! LOVE this product, it saved my vacation and will never go to the mountains without it.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Customer service on Friday, Saturday, Sunday - Happy ending Monday AM, March 13, 2009
This review is from: Oxia Portable Personal Oxygen O2 Dispenser Small (Health and Beauty)
I received my Oxia system a week ago and was very pleased with the quality of the package. The engineering and design was excellent. I tried it out and it seemed to deliver an excellent burst of oxygen on demand.

I used it briefly in the AM for two days and had the same results. Yesterday I expectantly opened the storage device that it comes in (also very cool) and pushed the button for a burst of oxygen. Nothing. It was empty. I said no problem. It must have been a bad bottle. I'll just call them and get it resolved. Oops - (866) phone number "disconnected". Well, then I'll just email Customer Service- The email was returned as "undeliverable". I then called the non (800) line and left 2 messages.

(edit) I was called back on Monday and was sent a new unit. Customer service apologized for inquiry problems on Friday. I am relieved and looking forward to a positive ongoing relationship.

I like the looks of this cool looking device. If they get their customer service lines straightened out I suspect I will be a happy customer.

I'll let you know the final result - with a 5 star review - after I get my next bottle.
