5.0 out of 5 stars I am only doing this review for homebrewers October 11, 2012

I read many comments in forums saying that Oxiclean is amazing for cleaning carboys and fermentation buckets and it works great for getting labels off bottles. I was pretty skeptical so I talked with the clerk at my local brew shop. He told me that it does work really well and is safe for use on brewing equipment as long as you wash it away afterwards. I gave it a try on my last brew, which was a heavy porter with a good mess left behind. I filled the scoop to the 3rd mark and mixed it with 5+ gallons of water in my glass carboy. I left it to just sit for 24 hours. I did not mix anything or scrub anything away beforehand. I went to pour out the dirty water the next day and was shocked that all of the residue and gunk on the bottom was no longer there and everything just poured down the drain. I didn't even have to worry about clogging my drain with the leftover gunk on the bottom of the carboy. After a quick rinse with water the carboy was sparkling clean. This is the easiest way I have found to clean my fermenting equipment. I will try it next on some labeled bottles and will update my review with results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!! February 2, 2012
I have been using oxiclean powder stain remover for about 5 years now and don't know how I'd survive without it. I can't believe another reviewer would say it doesn't work. The first time I used it I had received the baby oxiclean powder I got at my baby shower. It just sat there and I didnt think to use it. When I got pregnant with my 2nd daughter I pulled out my older daughters baby clothes and about half had either poo blow-out stains or baby food stains like carrots, prunes. I just randomly tried the oxiclean and was I was seriously amazed it took it out these 2 year old stains so well! A couple items I did have to do a 2nd round of stain treatment. I've been using it like crazy since. I think the secret to getting it to work really well is the amount of powder and time you let it sit on the stain. I have found putting the clothing in a tub with water/powder works better than mixing a thick paste and placing it on the stained area. I have a small tub or bucket that I put about 1/4 cup powder in then put very hot water on it. About 2-3 cups water so that it is pretty concenterated . Mix it a little then put the clothing item(s) in and let sit over night or at least 10 hours or so. Then wash as normal. It gets stains out 99% of the time. I think the only thing it hasnt gotten out for me is paint and permanent marker. Now I dont freak when my kids get spaghetti sauce on their clothes. Or when my 5 month old has her nearly daily blow-out! I would estimate I have used it on 300 pieces of clothing, no joke. Buy, buy, buy!! Especially if you have little ones! I have used it on my carpet once as well because spaghetti sauce was spilled and it left an orange mark. It looked good but after I had wiped the oxiclean out it kept cleaning and made our carpet way cleaner and brighter in just that one spot so it looked funny. So only use on it if you are getting your carpets cleaned the next day anyway.

This product get stains out just as advertised. I gave birth at home so the receiving blankets my son was wrapped in had blood on them and after being washed in sanitize mode with the Oxi Clean came out 100% clean. That might be TMI but I thought it would be a helpful bit of information.
