Product Description

Whether it's garlic mashed potatoes, bacon chive mash or regular smooth mashed potatoes, OXO's new Potato Masher makes it easy to mix and mash. A silicone wrap around the Masher lets you scrape the sides of the bowl for efficient mixing and mashing while protecting you non-stick cookware. Try mixing in garlic, basil or dill with your favorite spuds for extra zip. The broad, soft, horizontal handle lets you press straight down while it cushions your grip and absorbs pressure. The stainless steel grid plate presses potatoes and other vegetables smoothly in a single mash, with or without the skin

One of the easiest potato mashers for smashed, or mashed potatoes that my wife and I have ever tried. It is so comfortable and fits round pots perfectly and you control the exact amount of mashing you need. A great tool for someone as they get more mature.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love getting smashed..., March 27, 2008

... potatoes for dinner. In this reviewer's humble opinion, there is no other potato masher worth using. The design allows for very comfortable mashing and the silicone covering makes for an easy cleanup. The little silicone sticky-out things on the sides are fantastic for scrapping the saucepan.

Because it's essentially steel that's been wrapped in silicone, it's also very heavy duty... as such, I've also used it to smash up roasted chickpeas, even avocados.

Everyone who sees it always comments on how much it makes sense having the handle horizontal rather than vertical. Really, when was the last time anyone complemented your potato masher? Just buy it, already and quit wasting your time reading reviews!

5.0 out of 5 stars super-fast mash!, July 23, 2008

I like to mash potatoes right in the cooking pot, and my old wire masher scratched up my old Le Creuset pot pretty badly. So when I replaced the pot, I got this masher, which has a silicone coating. The first time I tried it, I was amazed at how quickly and easily it mashed the potatoes. I think I was done mashing in less than a minute. And no scratches on my shiny new pot, either.
