There's nothing more valuable than oxygen, and The Oxygen Revolution is your owner's manual.,
This review is from: The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More (Hardcover)
Paul Harch's The Oxygen Revolution simply and clearly teaches readers just what's wrong with the healthcare system. Oxygen is the most "medically necessary" substance there is, but its inherent value is all but ignored by a lazy, arrogant public health system and a corrupt, profit-driven private healthcare industry.
It costs $1,000,000,000 for a pharmaceutical company to put a new drug on the market with a 7-year, non-renewable patent. That means there's just seven years to recoup the $1,000,000,000--plus make another $1,000,000,000 to have enough capital to develop the next drug--plus make enough profit besides the $2,000,000,000 to stay in business. If they don't make a profit, drug companies go out of business. Instead of finding cures, the pharmaceutical business cycle produces drugs with outrageous price tags that only treat symptoms and not the root cause of disease. Consequently, nobody's developed a cure for any disease since polio over 50 years ago. To survive, drug companies create products that create perpetual consumers, i.e., customers. Sick people are no longer patients, and physicians are too arrogant to realize they're just pawns in the system. The Oxygen Revolution gives us a simple biology lesson: all disease processes begin with some form of oxygen deprivation. Then Harch shows us how many, many ills of the system can be cured if patients are just given a little more oxygen. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can save us millions of heartaches and billions of dollars. Read The Oxygen Revolution, and you'll understand how HBOT can save our very lives and the lives of our loved ones. David Freels, MedicaidforHBOT.com

Dr. Harch, a true medical pioneer, demystifies hyperbaric oxygen therapy and when the man on the street finds out what HBOT can do for the human body an the human brain... and starts to demand this therapy, and then the true revolution will take place.
Big Pharma seems to control so much of the practice of medicine that it is hard for an orphan therapy, such as HBOT where there isn't a great deal of money to be made, to come to the fore. This book is a required read for anyone who senses there is more to health care than the next pill.

Everything you need to know in a clear and understandable book!!,
This review is from: The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More (Hardcover)
The Oxygen Revolution ---- what a wonderful book! This is what has been needed for the general public for so long! There are many books on hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the medical profession but this is the first one I know of that speaks to the layperson.
I've seen what hyperbaric oxygen therapy can do for people who felt hopeless before giving hyperbaric therapy a try. The results have ranged from subtle to dramatic - what some call miracles and, having seen the changes, I can understand why. The Oxygen Revolution is set up in a way that you can choose what you want to learn about. You may want to read it all or you may only be interested (at this time) in certain conditions. Dr. Harch makes it easy to do just that by the way he has set it up. Part III of The Oxygen Revolution is of extreme value to all of us. Once you've familiarized yourself with the conditions that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help, Part III tells us what we REALLY need to know: how to get HBOT when we need it, what obstacles to expect, and how to get involved to change healthcare policy. For me, this was of incredible value! I don't need to understand how hyperbaric oxygen therapy works but I do need to know how to get it when I need it. It amazes me that so many know so little about this treatment when it has been around for quite some time. But then again, when the medical community itself has not taken the time to educate itself fully regarding hyperbaric therapy, how can we expect to know about it? Most of the time, it is through our doctors that we become familiar with therapies, treatments, procedures, etc. I urge everyone to read the book; educate YOURSELF. If you wait until you or someone you love has an actual need for hyperbaric therapy, you will be fighting the clock to become informed. Even worse, you may never know it is an option to help with or achieve recovery. Dr. Harch is truly an expert and leader in this field of medicine. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting him or hearing him speak, you know he is passionate about hyperbaric oxygen therapy, in particular, for neurological conditions and has spent his career fighting to make it available for everyone, everywhere.

THOUGHTS FROM ONE WHO USES HBOT THERAPY,
By TjB "cancer-free!" (Wisconsin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More (Hardcover)
Upon finding out that I had endometrial/uterine cancer, my husband bought me a portable hyperbaric chamber (herinafter referred to as "the chamber") and I was perscribed a round of 40 treatments at a nearby (50+ miles away) clinic. The chambers at the clinic are larger and there is 100% oxygen under pressure; a more intense treatment overall. But, you need to do 3 treatments (minimum) per week (and no more than 2 per day; 4 hours apart) to see results. My personal chamber can be used for 8+ hours at a stretch, if I wanted to sleep in it.
Before surgery, I had 3 tumors in the wall of the uterus and they were 1-1/2 inches long. After using the hyperbaric chamber, alkaline diet, no sugar approach for the 2 months before the surgery, there was only 1 tumor left; it was only 1-1/2 CENTIMETERS long and was only on the lining of the endometrium! I was cured! CANCER-FREE! Yes, I continue to use my chamber almost daily; it helps with many other health concerns I have. My small, very old, dog INSISTS on going into the chamber with whoever is going to be using it. He is 12 years old and folks ask when I got my puppy. That is how young and frisky he is! This past week a friend with RSD (a horrible, painful condition that keeps one in agony 24/7; suicidal levels of pain; excruciating to see someone in that much pain) The first day in my chamber he was painfree for 30 minutes. The first time he had been painfree in 3+ years! Each following day, the pain was less intense, the painfree time was greater, the hand where it was in opened further, the color and texture of the skin was better. I would recommend this course of therapy to anyone who has illness. All it is, is oxygen and pressure...we have both of these around us all the time (not as concentrated, of course), so, as the first part of the hypocratic oath states, it does no harm. If you have questions, plesse feel free to ask. I'd be happy to answer what I am able to.

Everyone needs to be aware of the benefits of HBOT.
First,I bought "Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy" by Richard Neubauer when I heard HBOT is an effective treatment for diabetic foot wounds. I was sensitive to the subject having had a 92-year-old aunt die (unnecessarily I believe) of a diabetic foot wound in 2005. No one in her nursing home, her doctor's office or in a nearby wound care center mentioned the word "hyperbaric" to her even though HBOT had been available for years at a hospital 30-minutes away in the adjacent county and had been approved for payment by Medicare for several years. The wound care center offered to amputate her leg and she refused. Although at her age she undoubtedly would have eventually died of something else, she needn't have suffered such a painful death. After I read a second book, "The Oxygen Revolution" by Paul Harch, I wondered if any doctors in my county were aware of the benefits of HBOT. I phoned the doctor who ran the HBOT facility in the adjacent county and a he emailed me the names of seven doctors in my county who had referred patients to him. All but one were surgeons. None were general practitioners. At this point I decided to take a proactive stance, and purchased sets of these two books and gave them to the nursing directors of the eight nursing homes in my county. They were appreciative and a portion of them had some knowledge of HBOT. At one home they spoke of one of their diabetic foot wound patients who several months earlier was referred to the HBOT center in the adjacent county and was now at home, cured. Also, I discovered that the local wound care center that in 2005 seemed not to know of HBOT, was now installing two HBOT chambers at their own facility. While HBOT is not a cure for all conditions, in conjunction with other treatments it often brings about amazingly improved outcomes. About a dozen conditions are approved for treatment by Medicare. These conditions are usually treated at hospital-run HBOT facilities at nearby wound care centers. The many dozens of other illnesses not yet covered by Medicare must be paid for out-of-pocket and are usually treated at the much less expensive privately operated HBOT facilities. One is located in another adjacent county to mine, also about 30-minutes away. While the authors of these two books recommend always using an HBOT facility that has a doctor on the staff, the doctor director of my nearest hospital-operated facility speaks very highly of my nearest privately-operated facility and its safety noting the EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) who operate their equipment are fully qualified to deal with anything that might occur. To the best of my understanding, Medicare approved injuries include carbon monoxide poisoning, healing of radiation damaged tissue, impeded healing of wounds due insufficient local blood flow and cyanide poisoning plus much more. Insurance sometimes cover bones and tissue that are difficult to heal, swelling of the brain (cerebral edema), crush injuries, burn injuries and drug resistant infections. Conditions not yet approved by Medicare for which improved outcomes have been reported include stroke recovery, cerebral palsy, autism, coma, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, Lyme's disease and many, many other maladies. If any of this sounds interesting to you, Google "HBOT and hyperbaric oxygen therapy" and learn more. Meanwhile I fully recommend these two books on the subject.

This review is from: The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More (Hardcover)
Dr. Harch has presented us with such a wealth of information about the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and its importance in reclaiming good neurological and physical health after illness or injury that it's nearly impossible to overstate the value of either this book or properly dosed HBOT. I found the book to be so valuable, in fact, that I purchased a dozen copies to give to family and friends because I want them to be armed with the FACTS about HBOT as presented by a true expert and leader in this field of medicine before they or someone they care about needs it. Do yourself and your family a favor and educate yourself with the facts about HBOT; don't cheat yourself by letting someone who knows little to nothing about this very important therapy (even your own doctor) dissuade you from learning the truth about this legitimate medical treatment; read the book and then give the naysayer a copy or loan them yours. Yes, it's that important.

A Book Lacking in Practical Information,
By 70's Girl "Born to Talk" (Far From My Hometown) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More (Hardcover)
My reason for becoming interested in HBOT? A child with severe cystic acne. After trying many treatments, there was little improvement. I thought, "If HBOT can heal wounds, why not the ones on this child's face?"
I pre-ordered this book on Amazon. The book jacket draws you in. It says, "HPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for..." Well, then there is a long list. The problem? The book only very briefly touches on the majority of those conditions. A lot of pages are spent covering brain injuries, either by accident, illness or birth. A good amount of pages talk about cardiac issues and diabetes. When my child started HBOT, I wanted to be sure the staff knew what they were doing. I was hoping that the book would give me detailed, technical info. It was light on that. The doctor spent a good amount of time trying to prove the the science behind HBOT, almost desperate to prove that it is not kooky. He also devoted many pages to the political aspects of HBOT. Very boring and not helpful to one currently doing HBOT. I read the book (twice) and still had many unanswered questions. The book is worth reading if interested in HBOT, but won't give you many specifics about the nuts and bolts of administering HBOT. p.s. After 40 hours of HBOT, my daughter's cystic acne is completely gone.

With the high cost of medical care and drugs, improving the healing process
could not be better. Hyperbaric oxygen treatments are breaking down doors in areas of infection, altzheimers, brain tumors, auttistic disorders, diabetes, arthritis, and list goes on. The upper class is now even purchasing private home hyperbaric chambers. People who fly a lot or even NASCAR drivers are turning to these oxygen treatments for detoxification. It is no longer only for scuba divers needing emergency care for the "bends". If you dont know what this new exciitng breakthrough is all about, this book is a must have.

Authoritative and well written. Pretty broad coverage of a complex subject, not real deep in parts, but very useful nonetheless. An essential text for anyone interested in recent developments in hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
