4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, just over priced
The reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it's completely overpriced, you seldom get a coupon, and all you're paying for is a $.59 bottle of peroxide. That's all this stuff is, a bottle of peroxide that has been purified for lens care. It's just ridiculously overpriced and I finally switched to a store brand that cost 1/3 of the price of this stuff. AFter 10...

3.0 out of 5 stars Why did they change this?
I have been using this product for many years. The past week or so, I noticed that after I put in the neutralizing tablet, the solution bubbles and foams vigorously. The foam is coming through the cap and leaking all over the place. I use a daily cleaner, saline, etc before I insert the contact lenses into the basket.

I just think that much for a bottle of peroxide, one of the cheapest things on the market, is just ridiculous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best disinfection solution for soft contacts, May 1, 2007

I have used lots of different disinfection solutions and heat disinfection, this is by far the best on the market. The neutralizer tablet for this solution also has moisturizers in it to help prevent lens dry-out. The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide which has never failed to prevent an eye infection. Good insurance compared to some of the other solutions that have failed recently.

I have been wearing contacts off and on for about eight years now. I swear that I have been through every imaginable contact lens brand (toric lenses) that has come on the market. For some reason my eyes would always swell and get puffy within a few hours after putting on my contact lenses and most lenses would last maximum 4-5 days because they would fall out or make my eyes so irritated that I would have to stop and take them off whereever I was! Be it the gym...grocery store...etc. My optometrist completed my eye exam a couple of months ago and told me that after this year she would not be writing me another contact lens prescription because my eyes were rejecting them and that she had no other option but to keep me off the lenses. I found this bottle at the store a month ago and although it was the most expensive lens disinfectant on the shelf I figured I had tried every contact and every contact solution imagineable and I might as well fork over the money and try this one before I went back to prescription glasses. In the past four weeks I have never felt more comfortable with my contact lenses than after using this product!!! My eyes no longer become irritated, red, and puffy. The solution must work magic on my lenses because I can wear them for 10 hours a day without irritation! Yes it is expensive, but after all of the hassle I have gone through with every other contact solution and contact brand, for me, it is well worth it. =)

3.0 out of 5 stars Why did they change this?, April 25, 2011
This review is from: Oxysept Amo UltraCare Disinfecting, Neutralizing & Storage System For Soft Contact Lenses - 1 Ea (12 fl ounces) (Health and Beauty)
I have been using this product for many years. The past week or so, I noticed that after I put in the neutralizing tablet, the solution bubbles and foams vigorously. The foam is coming through the cap and leaking all over the place. I use a daily cleaner, saline, etc before I insert the contact lenses into the basket.

When I would go to the bathroom in the morning to get my contact lenses, the cup would be more than half empty. Alot of the solution foamed out. Then, I noticed my eyes were getting itchy. Why is this happening all of a sudden?

I went online and read that if the solution bubbles vigorously after adding the neutralizing tablet that the tablet was not disinfecting. Then, I read online that the solution is now made in CHINA and the tablets are made in INDIA. I checked my bottles and sure enough they are made in China and India. It's time to switch brands. The product's quality has deteriorated and I don't want to risk my eyes.

1.0 out of 5 stars This product is a rip off!!!, February 26, 2010
This review is from: Oxysept Amo UltraCare Disinfecting, Neutralizing & Storage System For Soft Contact Lenses - 1 Ea (12 fl ounces) (Health and Beauty)
One reviewer says the tablets were made in India and the solution in China. I can only vouch for the tablets which say on the side of the box:"Tablets Made In India" (which I didn't see when I bought them). When I bought the Amo Ultrazyme Enzymatic Cleaner I assumed all that was necessary was to drop the tablets in multi-purpose solution, which I've done with all previous enzymatic cleaners for soft lenses. But when I opened the box and read the instructions I found that the tablets have to be used with the "Ultracare System". The Enzymatic Cleaner contains only the tablets. The "System" includes the UltraCare Disinfecting solution (sold separately, of course). I assume the "Ultracare Cup" with the nifty little "blue left lens basket" referred to is included with the Ultracare Disinfectant solution. In order to use this product one must also buy the solution. The total cost is well over $20!! It probably cost them pennies to make this stuff in China and India which is about a 1,000 percent markup!! I will toss the Enzymatic Cleaner in the trash and NOT buy the Amo Oxysept UltraCare Disinfecting Solution. Also, it says on the back of the box that "Ultrazyme Enzymatic Cleaner takes as little as 15 minutes." But in the instructions in says the lenses must remain in the solution for a minimum of SIX HOURS!! If it had said on the front of the Ultrazyme Enzymatic Cleaner box in bold letters that that tablets must be used with the UntraCare System and detailed what that system included, I would not have bought it. I went to the Abbott Medical Optics Inc. web site to tell them what I just told you but in order to contact them I had first to check the box which says: "I have read and agree with your Privacy Policy and Terms of Use" (to even contact them one must sign his/her life away). I read their Privacy Policy and DO NOT agree with who they share their information with so cannot send them my complaint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best on the market!, July 26, 2007

This stuff, hands down, IS the best product on the market. You don't have to worry about getting eye infections, it REALLY gets your lenses clean, and hey, so what if you have to buy a separate cleaner. I can get 6 months usage out of one pair of disposable lenses when I use this product, along with the enzymatic cleaner. All those no rub solutions out there do nothing but promote eye infections. I'm getting over one right now after using one of them. It's no walk in the park either. And besides, what's better than peroxide to clean anything? Well, bleach and a bottle of Coke rank up there pretty high too but neither of those work with contacts. Anyway, highly highly recommend - I've used this product for 15 years and looked to switch because of the priciness of the product. Paid for that with two eye infections! Grab this stuff and a cleaner - you won't be disappointed!

Tablets made in India. Solution made in China. Please, correct me if I am wrong. This is a new trend, contact lens solution made in China. AOSept is made in Canada and US. This is all subject to change so check the labels. I would stay away from China because of their track record. Google China drywall, domestic childrens milk, paint on toys, etc.
