With a new baby at home, my wife and I wanted a way to introduce our son to Jewish customs and music as we prepared for Shabbat. We looked around and couldn't find a video made just for Jewish babies-so we invented one! OyBaby was released in November, 2003, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback we’ve received from parents across the country.

Growing up, our parents taught us to celebrate our Judaism, and music was always a central part of that experience. Now, as parents, we hope to do the same for our son. OyBaby will be one of the first steps in his Jewish discovery. We wish the same for the children in your life, too.

We hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making it!

This DVD is a wonderful addition for a Jewish household. My young kids love it and I really appreciate the Jewish content and music. I'd much rather add a little culture to their TV viewing. Its incredibly well done! I *highly* recommend this DVD and the CD as well for car rides.

If anything, this video is even better than the first OyBaby DVD. Again, it presents great songs, well-sung, while being informative without being preachy.

While I'm not the biggest fan of Rick Recht (who wrote/performed 1 or 2 of the songs), I didn't really notice; the Schneiderman sisters more than make up for him. I especially liked the fact that the Chanukkah song was written by one of the members of Bare Naked Ladies (who the producers are quick to point out consist of 5, fully-clothed, men <grin>). The video even presents two traditional songs in Yiddish.

My wife and I also really enjoyed the way this video goes through many of the Jewish holidays, mainly by showing bits and pieces of them, and/or singing a basic song about them. The Pesach piece is especially cute.

Our 2 year old son loves it (and has since he got it at about 18 months). I would recommend that this be given to a slightly older child than the original OyBaby (say, to an 18 month old instead of a 12 month old for the original), but that may just be me. I do know that my wife and I prefer this one (at least a little bit); it's more "watch-able" for an adult.

Overall, just great (again)! Especially for something recorded at a bakery. (big grin!)

I bought this for my 1 year old because we wanted a Jewish alternative to all of the 'Baby Einstein'-type videos that are on the market. We love that the songs are all well-known Jewish songs, and the video includes blessings and Hebrew numbers and letters. The production values are great, and my toddler loves the music and the imagery. He claps his hands during his favorite songs and studies the puppets and children with rapt attention. I absolutely recommend this for Jewish parents looking for a baby video that provides Jewish culture while also entertaining baby.
