A good, well produced UFO documentary,

The Aussies make good UFO documentaries, and this is no exception. The computer graphics of what folks have witnessed ( and these people are very believable types ) is very slick and often spooky. It is only 45 minutes however, but worth it.

This is one of the best UFO documentaries that I've seen in a long time. Amazing the amount of people reporting the same sightings to the police, very credible witnesses and a very good interview of the Policeman. I was so happy that this documentary didn't show the same old UFO footage that is recycled in most other UFO documentaries. Definately a new perspective on UFO sightings in Australia. Some of it a bit scary.

THE ALIENZ OF OZ,

Got a bunch of UFo DvDs, expecting this to be least. It was most.In Oz there are 400 to 500 UFO reports a month. 10% are unexplained. That's about 40 or 50 a month. That would be well over 1 a day on the news. Seeing this great special reminds me of how much we miss of what's going on just in this supernatural subject. It's totally ignored. This is stimulating in your face close-up stuff from the start, no beating around the Australian bush. Many of the ships are so surprisingly close and big, the witnesses could almost board them, making it hardly matter the craft are recreated. One of the nightmare CE of the 4th kind made me realise why aren't there any positive ones, with intelligent exhange that's enlightening and lifting - like Edward Meier and others I have read, if true? Why must they all be waking nightmares? It makes one scared and I fear, biast. See it alone late at night. You'll see what I mean.

Enjoyed this australian version of sightings and abductions told from memory and then put into animated graphics.Doesn't go on for long though.Basically if its true were surely not alone and people out in higher places know it.However as one of the ladies on the dvd said I'd have never belived it if i haden't seen it for myself.REASON FOR 4STARS,,,,i;d would have gave it 10 if i'd seen something for real myself...

Interesting "account" of Space Invaders,

While I have been interested in the phenomena most of my life, I have yet to come across a "credible" documentary that accurately portrays the "scientific" approach to answering questions on the subject. Perhaps it's because there are no answers, but a scientific approach would certainly go a long way toward allowing the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Encounters is an entertaining and enjoyable, if whimsical montage of events that tantalize the viewer. I recommend it for UFO buffs that already have some body of knowledge of the subject.

this is one of the best presentations i have seen, regardless of your level of familiarity with the subject. you'll hear documented, detailed and utterly convincing accounts of amazing encounters, see some great cgi animation and there's even some radar film footage to boot. do abduction stories sound more credible with an Aussie accent? just maybe. an added bonus - absolutely beautiful scenery (have you been to australia?). a terrific video

I found it well worth watching, well worth adding to one UFO DVD file section. It seemed strange that I had to send to the USA for an Australian UFO documentary, but I guess that is what happens sometimes.Yours thankfully Peter J Barr

Being a ufo buff, this dvd is amazing. Don't expect actual ufo footage, but the graphics and genuine witness accounts are amazing. The initial story of Frederick Valentich is true. I remember seeing the story on the local news when it happened. GO FOR IT!!!

SUPERIOR UFO Docco making,
By Jamie Innes (Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OZ Encounters: UFO's in Australia (DVD)
I've seen a lot of UFO doccos, and read a lot of UFO books. Most of my knowledge of the topic comes from these sources... not films. And I can tell you, this is a *really good* UFO docco. What sets this apart from other UFO doccos are 2 things... 1- It's about UFO and alien encounters only in Australia It's a fresh take seeing 3d graphics telling the story of an alien encounter rather than just watching somebody tell thier story, and you struggle to visualise it for yourself... and put a picture in your head. The only downside to this docco is it's duration. it says on the cover it's 60 min... but it's not... it's 45 min. Pretty cheeky considering the price you pay for it. So yeah... I think what you pay for 45 mins of docco (albiet it's a good one with 3d graphics)... is a bit too steep at it's current price. But that's my opinion.

An very enjoyable UFO documentary.,
By Red Rob (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OZ Encounters: UFO's in Australia (DVD)
This documentary is different to many others I've seen on the UFO subject for one particular reason. Apart from one photograpic analyst, there are no real 'experts' present to either talk up or talk down what the people shown in the programme have witnessed. Over 45 minutes, Oz Encounters lets ordinary people tell their extraordinary stories and throws in a few computer graphics to better illustrate the incidents described. And you know what? I didn't miss the 'experts' one bit. It was a pleasure to watch a UFO documentary that didn't cut every 2 minutes to some idiot talking about boloid meteors or the planet Venus. On the other hand it was also nice NOT to hear someone from the opposite camp wittering on about inter-dimensional commuting dolphins. The balancing influence of 'expert' opinion was pretty much absent and on this occasion I'm glad. So then, is this a documentary aimed at true UFO 'believers'? I guess so, but it's a very good one. If journalism is about telling someone's story then that's what this documentary does and does well. |
