I received this as a gift a few weeks back and so far this wine opener set has been great! I'm a big wine enthusiast, and I have a few other wine openers similar to this, but this is the only one that I use now, and the only one that I keep out for others to see. I've used this half a dozen times and it worked perfectly every time. Most wine openers are very plain and far from attractive, but this set looks very attractive. What I love the best though is the digital infrared thermometer that you can use to tell the temperature of the wine. I'd definately recommend this to any one that loves wine, and wants something that works and looks great.

It doesn't remove the corks from the bottles. I have used the unit for a week and a half now and it has NEVER, repeat NEVER, removed one cork entirely yet. It gets them about a third of the way out, then I have to reach for my handy dandy Italian made butterfly handle manual cork puller to get the cork entirely removed. The fancy smanchy temperature reader doesn't work all that well either. I have taken a number of bottles out of a temperature controlled wine cabinet, and the reader has not got within 5 degrees once. As a conversation piece this thing is pretty interesting to people. As a wine opener, a big DOG in my opinion. Save your money like I should have, and stay manual. Not as "cool", but it works every time, which is kinda the point eh?

I love this opener! Not sure how accurate the temp gauge is, but as far as a wine opener goes, this works great! I was fed up with bottles sliding all over the counter with a typical rabbit ear or lever openers, so I decided to treat myself and buy this. With one button operation, this could not be easier to use. I have had several family gatherings/holiday meals at my home since purchasing and along with occasional personal use, I have probably opened about 20 bottles with it so far. It has performed perfectly every time except one (which I'm 95% sure was user error). You do need to make sure you center the opener over the bottle, but that is easy enough to do. The only downfall I've found is that I end up opening more wine than necessary since a) it's fun to use and; b) everyone wants to see it in action! Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend!

I absolutely loved using the Ozeri Maestro Electric Wine Opener, for it was just so sleek and sophisticated looking right out of the box, as well as quick and easy to master. When you first remove it from its black gift box, you will assemble both the included foil cutter and the electric wine opener itself on its charging stand. Then plug the stand into an electrical socket and watch as the battery capacity indicator (the blue bars under the name Ozeri) flashes from 1 to 4 bars when charging. When the flashing stops and all 4 bars remain lit, the electric wine opener is fully charged.

Once you've charged the Maestro, you're ready to open your first bottle of wine. Remove the foil cutter from the charging stand, place it on top of a wine bottle and then twist to cut and remove the bottle's seal. Next, place the electric wine opener on top of the wine bottle making sure that it is as upright as possible at all times. While firmly holding the wine bottle, depress the extract button. The corkscrew spiral will turn in a clockwise direction to penetrate the cork and then gradually remove it from the bottle. The electric wine opener will automatically stop when the cork has been fully removed. Depress the release button and the cork is automatically released from the electric wine opener!

Now, it's also possible to accurately measure the temperature of the wine by aiming the lens of the infrared sensor at the center of the wine bottle or glass, and placing the wine bottle as close to the lens as possible without touching it. Wait for 2 to 3 seconds and the temperature will be displayed on the LCD for about ten seconds. To ensure the maximum accuracy, repeat this process 3 times and take the average.

I was amazed at just how easy the Ozeri Maestro was to use! Finally, no more broken corks that are dangerously stuck in the neck of the bottle. I also no longer have to worry about hurting my hand while trying to twist and turn a corkscrew into a rather stubborn bottle of wine. Of course, most importantly of all, I can finally guarantee that the wine I am drinking is being served at the proper temperature, so that I can truly enjoy it as it was meant to be enjoyed.

On average, for best results, wine must be served at the following temperatures:
Sparking Wine: 48'F (9' C)
White Wine: 53'F (12' C)
Rose Wine: 51'F (11' C)
Red Wine: 62'F (17' C)
Slight variations of less than +/-10% are acceptable.

I purchased this opener for myself to minimize the footprint of a mechanical corkscrew. What I received is very impressive. It is truly an excellent idea, brilliantly designed, well made and so much more than just a powered gadget. It has a decent presentation gift box with the powered opener, wall-wart transformer for recharging, storage base, foil cutter and intelligent instructions. My unit was received uncharged so I had to be patient and wait an hour before using. Well worth the wait. The moment you plug it in to charge it on the base, the unit lights up to display flashing LED charge level indicators, ambient room temperature and Logo. Nice. To view the bottle's temperature, place the bottle in front of the infra-red detector located on the font of the opener (unit). To uncork, just hold it vertically over the bottle with one hand and with your other hand, press the 'down' button to employ the motor to screw down to uncork. The cork is then removed from the unit by pressing the 'up' button and the cork drops away. All so Verrry Easy and Fast ! I also noticed how relatively safe this opener is. The sharp end of the screw stays flush with the lower end of the unit. This does not mean it could never cause injury but compared to other openers, it seems much less hazardous. Easy, effective, fairly lightweight. What a great device for yourself or someone else, man or woman.

I bought 3 of these in March for birthday presents. We gave 2 away and kept 1. Everyone seemed to like their gift, but the one we kept has never quite worked well. We keep it on the charger when not in use, however, when you remove it from the charger to use nothing happens. I have to hit it a few time and hold the button down for 60 seconds before it starts making noise. Ours works, but just barely. My mom loves the one I gave her.

I bought this for my sister's birthday. I was not exactly sure she would like it but I thought I would give it a shot since she is a wine head. She demonstrated the product and I was pleased. Now you wont be using this at the dinner table because it is a bit noisy and would ruin the moment but to open before hand it is excellent. It is quick and easy to use. The only thing that can get made fun of is the temperature part of it. Makes for a conversation piece as far as the but of jokes. The foil cut works excellent as well. I would suggest this product for anyone, like my sister, who throws wine parties and does enjoy the lack of effort for opening a multitude of bottles in a short period. Like I said the only thing that keeps this from the 5 star is the noise.

This is hands-down the best wine opener! All the other wine openers didnt look as attractive, nor did they have the cool features this one has.

Does it work? - Yes it does. I know that some wine openers struggle to get the cork out or chews out the cork but this one opens with ease. so far, I've opened 4 bottles without a hitch.

After my "rabbit ears" opener gave up the ghost last week, I decided to try an electric opener. Not because I'm enamored of gizmos, but because I wanted my wife to be able to effortlessly open a bottle of wine if I'm out of the house. She likes a nice Italian "proseco" and the corks on those are the hardest to extract. In fact, a normal wine opener couldn't get the job done when the rabbit ears broke. The Ozeri opened that bottle with aplomb. The temperature sensor seems to work fine, and the unit is very attractive-perhaps even a conversation piece.

Over the decades, I've used about every type of wine bottle opener created, and THIS - THIS is the one I've been looking for! The ease of use is far above and beyond other openers! We keep it on the charger on the kitchen counter, although, once charged it will work for a very long time if you prefer to put it in a drawer.

The foil cutter works very well compared to others we've tried. After the foil is removed, simply place the opened on top of the bottle, hold the bottle, then press the button down. The corkscrew penetrates the cork, and removes it. Sometimes the new synthetic corks will result in squeaking sounds and jerking motions as it's removed, but the Ozeri Maestro does the job.

We've never had the opener fail to completely remove a cork. Once removed, simply press the "up" side of the button and the cork is released from the opener. No more split corks, no more strain trying to insert an opener, and the price is very, very reasonable.
