This mill looks great(sleek and modern) and works perfectly.

For me it's not just a gadget--I have problems with my hands and wrists and the twisting of the manual grinder I've been using really can hurt.
Linda
It is a bit hard getting the cap off to fill it with peppercorns.

Bought this as a gift for my parents and we all thought it was a brilliant little kitchen gadget. It's practical, nice-looking, and fun to use (maybe a little too fun - the first week of owning this pepper mill produced some veerrrry peppery dishes). Sure beats using a manual mill! I thought the grinding mechanism was slightly noisy, though not enough to detract from its charms. Also, it would have been nice if some peppercorns had been included with the mill so that we could try it out as soon as we took it out of the box, but that was easily fixed with a run to the grocery store. Good thing black pepper is supposed to be good for your health, because I foresee a peppery future.

This is the best pepper grinder I have ever had. I love that it works just by tipping it upside down. Another feature that I really like is the ability to adjust how fine or coarse a grind I would like, something my cheap pepper grinder did not do. I would recommend this product.

We've had it just about six months and now it seems to have died. Never did a particularly smooth job of grinding rapidly and clunky design with the top which must be removed each time one wants to add pepper while cooking -- kind of defeats the purpose of an electric, one-handed appliance. Sorry to say I can't recommend it.

While I like the general design of this grinder and the gravity activation feature, it has three fundamental flaws.
1. The reservoir doesn't hold enough peppercorns
2. Filling is tricky. I got peppercorns spilled all over the counter three times while attempting to put the filled reservoir back together.
3. The top cap is not easy to remove or replace.

Do not buy this product. It is virtually impossible to load peppercorns into the bin without the battery pack falling off. It is also virtually impossible to align the tiny wires of the battery pack with the tiny screws in the bin. No alignment no juice to the grinder. It takes amazing hand strength to separate the bin from the battery pack and the same strength to re-attach it. If your hands are weak, which may be why you are purchasing an electric grinder in the first place, you will not be able to load the batteries or load peppercorns into the bin. I wish I could have given it zero stars. Waste of money.

So I liked this pepper grinder for a while. Good flow of ground pepper just by turning it upside down with the button depressed, very cool. Some issues started getting annoying though. Small hopper, I used it moderately and I had to fill it about twice a month. No huge deal, but its kinda hard to fill. The filler opening is kinda small and the other end is on a diagonal so you can't put it flush down and have two free hands, kinda awkward. Then the batteries it came with died in the first month, hmm. Then I noticed that every time I took off the housing to fill it with pepper the entire exterior housing would come off and have to be reassembled. Getting frustrated. Then yesterday, after 3 months, the plastic gears inside fell out and can't be reassembled. Outside the return window. Boo. I wouldn't recommend it.

updated post here: I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced the item - no hassle...

Bought this grinder after reading many of the reviews. Some background - had previously owned an electric Peugeout which worked wonderfully but was expensive (100+ about 8 years ago) anddid not want to pay that much again when it broke a few years later. Took a chance and replaced the Peugeout with a Miu. To my surprise worked as well as the previous mill! My complaint at the timme was that it seemed to go through the batteries very fast; solved it by getting rechargeable ones. The Miu lasted about as long as the Peugeot at a third the price. Finally broke when the plastic piece that engages the inside broke.

Decided to buy the Ozeri since it sits upright and thus no pepper getting on the counters and liked the idea of the lid. The first one arrived DOA. I called the company - they were very curteous, helpmed me troubleshoot to see if it could be fixed (could not) and promptly replaced it. (This is the good part).

The bad part is the performance - very sluggish when grinding (unlike the Peugeout and Miu) and the lid is a royal pain to put on and off. Still works (has been 6 months) but am thinking of biting the bullet and ordering the Miu again!

I am amazed that so many other really like this mill. What am I missing? don't think it is defective since it does grind just slowly and seems to labor while grinding unlike the others.

It constantly stops and you have to flip it over and wack it on the counter to unstick it. It just doesn't have enough power.
