As a catering Chef, I've been through quite a few kitchen scales throughout all the years I've been working. I've had expensive ones and cheap ones but this particular scale by Ozeri blows them all away. For its price, this scale is phenomenal in terms of quality and accuracy and definately my favorite.

Accuracy - I used a 50 gram calibration weight to test the accuracy and consistency of this scale and it was perfect. It was 50 grams every time, even when I repeatedly placed the weight on and off a few times. Also, the I used other weights to test the tare function which also worked perfectly. The weight capacity on this scale is also plentiful. At 11 lbs, you can practically weigh most dishes/bowls

style/looks - Though this wasnt at the top of my priority when shopping for a scale, this scale does have a very nice appeal. the entire top portion of this scale is a one piece tempered glass surface so its really compact. It appears that the material under the glass is black so it has a black glossy/shine look on the surface. One thing I should note is that since the top is all glass, it is easy to get finger prints on it, but at the same time, since it is all smooth glass, its very easy to clean. Another thing I should note is that the whole glass top acts as the weighing platform so its really easy to weigh large objects without a problems.

size - its relatively small, being almost the size of a half sheet of a regular peice of paper. Its also very thin; I'd say about the same thickness as an iPhone. Since the shape of this scale is thin, its really convenient to store anywhere, or even take around with you in a bag or purse.

other features - The screen that displays the weight is quite spacious and backlit so its very easy to read at a glance. Another thing that I had noticed over the years with other scales is sometimes, the screen is too hard to read, whether it be no backlight, poor viewing angle, or a weird shape that makes it hard to read the screen with a large bowl on it. However, this scale is very easy to read in any situation. Also, the buttons on this scale are touch sensitive, meaning you literally just tap your fingers against the glass surface to operate it. I find this to be very convenient in many ways, especially since there are no grooves for physical buttons, its easier to clean or wipe down.

Also, batteries are included ( 2 button cells), which is always a plus.

After a few weeks of use, this is now my favorite scale. In my opinion, no other scale in this price range provides the accuracy, features, and quality of this scale.

I decided to get a food scale to be more accurate with portion size. This scale is great looking, works really well and super portable. I only wish it was waterproof. That being said it does a great job, doesn't take up a lot of space and was only $20. I definately recommend it.

Very good price for what you get but it is extremely temperamental and sometimes resets to zero when it shouldn't. You have to wait a bit after pressing the zero button and if you press it twice it may zero out then reset after you started weighing something. The buttons don't always work if your hands are wet when you try them. I'm not sure it lives up to the 11# capacity but I know it's pretty good because our plates are pretty heavy even before adding food. I do love how sleek it is and the size. It's nice that it fits a large dinner plate but when not in use it doesn't take up much room. It looks much more expensive then the price indicates. Overall we are satisfied, especially for the price, but be prepared to have some patience while you use it.

The entire surface is one sheet of glass- no crevasses for food to get stuck in.

It seems to want to stabilize for a couple seconds before you can use the buttons. For example, if I put it on the counter and immediately touch Tare, nothing happens. If I let it sit a second or two everything works as expected.

Other thoughts:
Other scales have a plate that rests on a pressure sensor. Here, the entire scale is the plate and the feet rest on pressure sensors. This design probably explains why it wants to stabilize for a few seconds before the buttons will respond (theorizing... because the feet rest on pressure sensors, touching the buttons causes weight changes; stabilizing allows the scale to recognize and ignore weight changes from button presses).

The tare function works well. I had another electronic scale before and the tare function does not work well. I always had to turn off the unit to tare. This unit does not have this problem. However, the unit uses CR2032 battery, and the battery life was half empty when I got the unit. It's a turnoff since the battery is expensive.

The ml function was a pleasant surprise. It measures water quite well. It's easy to switch to different measurements. The button works well.

I just got mine in the mail and was surprised at how big it really is. I know the description says 7.5" in length but this thing is a monster. It matches my glass-top stove perfectly! Only complaint I have is that it would have measured in tenths of grams too... Only g/oz/ml/lbs not 0.5g It probably said that in the description as well I was just in a hurry to order it. All-in-all this product is great for what i use it for.

The Ozeri Ultra thin kitchen scale has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen. It doesn't take up a lot of room, so it's always handy and I didn't realize how often you'd like to weigh something but you don't want to take the time to get your scale out. It comes in really handy for making sure all the burgers are the same size to bigger amounts, especially with the tare feature. Love it!!!

This is a great-looking and convenient kitchen scale. My only problem with it is that I have a 100 gram calibration weight and this scale indicates 97 grams. As a kitchen scale for foods, this discrepancy is probably not an issue but I was somewhat surprised that it was not accurate when weighing 100 grams.

Oftentimes, I checkout the reviews for items I'm looking to purchase. When the deal is a good one, my "consumer antenna" stick straight up and I look at various reviews before taking the plunge to the check-out. This situation was no different for me. Rather than reading lengthy reviews, I prefer the short ones that offer the most information regarding the overall value. Since I'm already moving into the territory of a lengthy review, I'll sum it up by saying that I purchased 4 more of these scales after receiving the first one! That says it all. A great value for a sharp and "sexy" scale!

It weighs quickly and accurately. It is so thin, it sits on the ledge on the front of my bread box.
