I bought this CD for the track "Cut Chemist Suite," and expected the rest of the CD to be of the mostly hip-hop persuasion, with the turntable wizardry of Cut Chemist and the Lyrical Flava of Tuna Fish. To my suprise and delight, half the CD is more Afrocuban Jazz than Acid Jazz. I really dig Tuna Fish's lyrics and his style, and the music on the disc is fantastic. If you appreciate music that isn't influenced by the commercial Backstreet Boys, Jay-Z, DMX Britney Spears music scene, then this CD is a must have. Also check out Red Snapper, Styles of Beyond, Attic Merchants and Anticon.

I would recommend this CD to anyone looking for some very danceable Latin Hip-Hop. Latin Hip-Hop! What's that? Well, take a regular Latin dance band and throw in a DJ and MC. The playing is superb, the songs are very hip, and the message is both playful and socially aware.

The extra 2 live tracks are definately worth it. 'Cut Chemist Suite' is amazing! You can hear the interplay between Chali 2Na and the group, and then the tabla player and the DJ have an amazing 'battle'.

Buy this now, and get in on the ground floor. Ozomatli is going to be huge!

I just saw Ozomatli live, and let me say they come through live as this cd does! Many hits here are a fusion of rock, salsa, rap, flamenco. They are the kings of fusion, and that's what you'll get here. Just to say the least they are all amazing musicians, singing catchy and fun danceable rhythms.

i'm not a huge hip-hop or salsa or rap fan, but MAN is this a great album! if you want an album with great harmonies that'll make you want to move in your chair, this is it.J5 fans out there will also enjoy a lot of this.
