5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the greatest videos ever!!!!
I went to an Ozzy concert not long after I watched this video and I got a real feel for what it was like by watching the video. I happen to think the thing about the muffins was hilarious. This is Ozzy in peak condition and anyone who says this video sucks should have their head bitten off. His band, Zakk, Randy, and Mike, are some of the best musicians in the business...

i really love the sound of ozzy since the days of BS. it was even better together with randy and then the the time together with zakk - it was great - live & loud is one of the best albums ever ... BUT !!!

who the hell is the editor of this video ?

i want to see zakk mistreating his guitar - but what do you see in this video. one cut per second. in one guitar solo, you see zakk with 3 different guitars, ozzy pulling water on the crowd, ozzy with pony-hair, ozzy with a shirt, ozzy half-naked, 2 times michael, and randy playing another song ... - AND EVERYTHING IN JUST ONE 15s - GUITAR SOLO !!!

technical this dvd is also diappointing: 2 sides - turn around at halftime - like old vinyl. no subtitels to sing along for newbees.

i really like the way ACDCs "no bull" is made. the concert without any trash. you can see angus and his gibson and brian talking to the crowd. just one concert at a beautiful arena. you can hear it as often you want without getting bored of interviews. the interviews are on a second track on the dvd. that is the way it should be.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible DVD!, December 28, 2003

I LOVE Ozzy Osbourne. He is awesome live.He has one of the best stage presences in metal. But this DVD is not a real concert. What this is the music from the Live and Loud CD played in the background played over a bunch of crappy video footage.Half of it doesn't even belong here. The music is great, but the video footage is what messes this up.If you want a real Ozzy concert, buy "Live At Budokan".If you want to get the REAL concert this was taken from, buy the CD.Also,The DVD does NOT have instant chapter access like the case says so.Plus, the DVD is two sided. This means that you have to flip it over in the middle of the concert.

2.0 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment, May 20, 2003

I'll keep this short and sweet....

I bought this DVD expecting to see a legend at work in a LIVE concert. This DVD was nothing more than a 110 minute music video. I am above all else a big guitar fan and there were NO good close ups of Zakk's guitar solos. The few times you did get a glimpse of him playing, it was totally out of sync with the music! Absolutely the worst editing I've ever seen. I cannot believe this DVD was marketed as a compilation of live songs. Save your money people!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Gave me a headache, April 6, 2001

This review is from: Ozzy Osbourne - Live & Loud (DVD)
At first I thought: "Ozzy live on DVD. Mmmmmm. My cup runeth over." I got about half-way through and then I had to turn it off. First off: it has an awful bottom end mix. The bass and kick drum blur together in a wash of mud with very little pitch definition. It was only when I cranked it up to wall-shaking levels that I said "Oh THAT'S how it's supposed to sound" Come on, I know the title says "Live and Loud" but must we take it so literally? Not everyone has a powerful sound system, and most of us have neighbors. I guess the producers figure Ozzy fans don't actually listen to the musical quality, but rather want something massize and bone-crushing to bang your head too.

Then there's the video: Dizzying. I understand that Ozzy is all about sensory overload, but I just couldn't take it. Even in small doses it's too much. A 2 second shot from any camera angle seems to be the max. I'm not exaggerating. Too many gratuitous shots of the females taking off their tops. Too many shots of very scary looking pierced, dyed and tatooed fans. It detracts from the actual music. And continuity leaves something to be desired. Almost right away, one can tell that the footage was edited from at least two different concerts. Concert A, stage left, two seconds. Cut to concert B, stage center, one second. You get the idea.

I dunno, maybe I'm just more of a purist. I'm not interested in the "whole concert experience" here, I just want the songs. On the upside, the selection of music is wonderful. Most of my favorite songs are present, and then some. Many different tracks that span his career.

Like Oz says: "Don't blame me." Well I don't. I blame everyone else who produced this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great music, but........., April 17, 2004

I would agree with most of the other reviewers, the footage is crappy (especially "Paraniod"). The bottom line is this is Ozzy and anything from him is good. The disc is double sided and it does actually have a menu and instant track access ( on my remote I just press the menu button while the disc is playing). The best song/footage on here is "Black Sabbath", but it's still bad. I usually put the disc in, switch the TV off and enjoy the music. It gets 3 stars only because Ozzy is on here. Die hard Ozzy fans can "waste" their money (like me), otherwise- DON'T BUY!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Show, March 23, 2002
This review is from: Live & Loud [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Ozzy Osbourne's live video, Live And Loud, documents some of Ozzy's behind the scenes antics as well as the awesome shows he puts on live. This video shows the madman doing what he does best, aside from using a curse as every other word: getting on stage and playing the music that made him a star.

The concert scenes are awesome. Taken from 3 different shows, Ozzy and his band pound through the hits from his solo work and Black Sabbath as well as playing his latest songs (at the time) from the No More Tears CD. Ozzy does his usual water tossing and clapping. Drummer Randy Castillo rocks the drums while Mike Inez plays away masterfully on the bass (especially on No More Tears). And, of course, Ozzy has his right hand man on stage with him, also going by the name Zakk Wylde. With his bullseye guitars, Zakk blazes through each song, adding his own touch to the songs written by Randy Rhoads while adding a new innovation or two to his own.

As I said, it is an excellent video. Each song is great and watching the band play is always a treat. The behind the scenes parts are simply little tidbits of stuff Ozzy does while not on stage. Some are actually quite funny. A good thing about this video is that they keep most of Ozzy's between songs talking. Its not much but its still cool.

Any Ozzy fan should own this just to simply have it. It showcases Ozzy's ability to entertain and delight the fans while he has his own fun on stage. It also shows how tight and intense the rest of the band is at shows. Definitely pick this video up. Its a must.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, March 8, 2007
This review is from: Ozzy Osbourne - Live & Loud (DVD)
I put this DVD in the player, got about half way through the first song (No More Tears), got frustrated and ejected it. First of all, the camera work looks like it's being handled by a ferret on crank. That kind of camera work irritates me to no end. I just want to watch the band play. I don't need a simulated "Clocwork Orange" re-education experience. Then I noticed that, every time the camera angle changed, Ozzy and the band were wearing different clothes, or Ozzy's hair was different or his lips didn't match the sound. Guess what - the video isn't even real. It's apparently a bunch of different concert footage superimposed on the audio from one show. What a rip-off.

4.0 out of 5 stars High and catchy, July 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Live & Loud [VHS] (VHS Tape)
It combined like 3 of Ozzy's concerts together so u can see 3 different looking Ozzy in one song, pretty interesting and he looks so adorable. The graphic, sound, editing is awesome. I also like the mini clips of him sort of acting especially the muffin one and the one with his son. The beginning of the video rox, u can see the young Ozzy back in the Sabbath years. Black Sabbath by the Black Sabbath was just great. The only thing bad about this video is that it sometimes repeat same shots a few times in different parts of the video. That's(well and some of the discusting things too) why I take one star off of it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Save your money, December 29, 2000

This review is from: Ozzy Osbourne - Live & Loud (DVD)
I am a huge Ozzy fan and an even bigger Randy Rhoads fan and I really don't want to say something bad about an Ozzy product. However, on this one I must. First off, don't buy this expecting it to be a real concert. The footage is spliced together and if you watch what Zakk is playing, often times it is clearly not the same song. There is too much audience in this dvd and I truly don't believe that the T 'n' A footage throughout was appropriate. Expected in a Poison dvd but not in an Ozzy dvd. Also, the video shown during Flying High Again, which consisted mostly of crude audience footage, was downright disrespectful to Randy Rhoads. Very disappointed.
