This review is from: Ozzy Osbourne: The Randy Rhoads Years (Guitar Legendary Licks) (Paperback)
What I mean by the title is that the cd does not contain a single spoken word to let you know where you're at. You just have to watch the LED on your cd player. Also, the biography and discography are just standard stuff which could've been cut and pasted from any magazine or website. The transcriptions are thorough enough and are divided into sections played once at normal speed and then once at slow speed, without repeating the riffs. Solos are transcribed accurately enough played once at normal speed and once slowly. Great to practice with but would be nice if someone spoke to tell you what song you're on and what section. Also tuning notes would be nice so that you would be able to get in tune the songs that are in E Flat. This book and cd will require a great deal of self - discipline but is a very good thorough look at Randy's style. Also, the selections are pretty good too: Diary of a Madman, SATO, Over The Mountain, Flying High Again, Mr. Crowley, Crazy Train, Mother Earth, I Don't Know, Suicide Solution. For Randy fans only!
