Editorial Reviews

Review

"A highly charged, sensual story laced with intense emotion, humor, and some of the sharpest dialogue ever written. The sizzling tension between Mitch and Liz catapults this tale into the stratosphere. Tori Carrington is definitely one of the hottest writers to be included in the Temptation line." -- Rendezvous Magazine 3/00

"Get ready for a million laughs as well as some steamy sex to take the paint off your fingernails! Tori Carrington has lit a sexy fire that never will go out with the Magnificent McCoy Men.... You have adventure, fireworks, great characters, and well written, fast-paced plots that hold your interest like a magnet." -- Suzanne Coleburn, The Belles & Beaux of Romance

"Th(is) dynamic author duo...are penning their way into readers' hearts with their Magnificent McCoy Men series..... The townspeople of Manchester, Virginia are betting fast and furiously to see if Mitch McCoy is finally able to win the hand of his returned former fiancee, who jilted him at the altar seven years ago. Fans can bet this delightful romance is sure to be a winner!" -- Patricia Rouse, Romantic Times Columnist

"The second novel in the Magnificent McCoy Men miniseries is a wonderful intrigue that will have readers anxiously awaiting book three. THE P.I. WHO LOVED HER is pure fun as the lead protagonist struggles with his love for a woman who deserted and embarrassed him while wanting to keep her safe from whomever is after her. While readers will bond with the compassionate male lead, Liz is an enigmatic person whose plight will touch the audience on a deep level. With this tale and the previous story (LICENSE TO THRILL), Tori Carrington is forty percent complete towards a royal flush." -- Harriet Klausner, Reviewer

"Tori Carrington delivers a one-two punch this month with an emotional love story and intense sexual chemistry in THE P.I. WHO LOVED HER, which focuses on two well developed characters and an incredible cast of secondary characters." -- Shannon Short, Romantic Times

From the Author

Dear Reader,

Ask and you shall receive. When we wrote License to Thrill, the first book in The Magnificent McCoy Men miniseries, we were overwhelmed with requests for more stories about Marc and his sexy-as-sin brothers. So how could we resist?

In The P.I. Who Loved Her, restless Mitch McCoy comes face-to-face with his former fiancee, Liz Braden, on the side of a dark country road. Not only did Liz leave him at the altar seven years ago, but the wedding dress she's wearing tells him she's just left another poor fool in the same situation. Mitch's dilemma: keeping his hands off the only woman he's ever wanted--long enough to figure out what, or who, she's running from.

We hope you enjoy watching Liz lead Mitch on a merry little dance that ends up where it should have seven years ago--in the bedroom! We'd love to hear what you think. Visit our website or write us via snail mail at P.O. Box 12271, Toledo, Ohio 43612. And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the next Magnificent McCoy, For Her Eyes Only, coming your way in July 2000!

Here's wishing you many happy endings!

5.0 out of 5 stars Part of the Magnificent McCoys -- this book is manificent!, March 11, 2000
This review is from: P.I. Who Loved Her (The Magnificent Mccoy Men) (Temptation, 776) (Paperback)
In THE PI WHO LOVED HER, we get Mitch McCoy's love story.

Seven years ago, Liz Braden walked away from Mitch and their wedding without a backwards glance. Now she's back in town, wearing a wedding dress that's covered in blood. Mitch's PI instincts kick into high gear. When she walked away from him all those years ago the only thing bleeding was his broken heart. What's she left the would-be-groom bleeding with this time?

Liz is home. She thinks she's running away from a bad situation, but could it be she's running toward something? Back to the man she'd loved and lost? Can the past be rekindled? Or is it possible that the flames of love that burned between her and Mitch never really died?

I've read every book Tori Carrington's written and feel I can honestly say that their work just keeps getting better and better. I loved Mitch and Liz's story and can't wait until the next McCoy installment!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun romance that I enjoyed a lot, March 14, 2000
This review is from: P.I. Who Loved Her (The Magnificent Mccoy Men) (Temptation, 776) (Paperback)
Mitch McCoy does not begrudge his brother Marc's euphoria after marrying Melanie, but he could not handle all that family happiness that oozed in Maryland over the event. Marc's ceremony reminds Mitch of his own time at the altar seven years ago when his bride failed to show up. Mitch gracefully leaves for his Manchester, Virginia home.

On a two-lane road, Mitch sees a woman standing near her broken down car. His heart slam-dunks his brain when he realizes that the stranded motorist is Liz Braden, the woman who jilted him. She is wearing a wedding dress, which tells Mitch that flighty Liz has punished another groom. The wedding dress has a bloodstain that worries the sleuthing side of Mitch. However, P.I. aside, Mitch knows he still desires Liz, but does not trust her anymore. While unraveling the mystery behind why the only woman he ever loved recently fled Boston, he plans to bed her without a marriage license.

The second novel in the "Magnificent McCoy Men" mini series is a wonderful romantic intrigue that will have readers anxiously awaiting book three. THE P.I WHO LOVED HER is pure fun as the lead protagonist struggles with his love for a woman who deserted and embarrassed him while wanting to keep her safe from whomever is after her. While readers will bond with the compassionate male lead, Liz is an enigmatic person whose plight will touch the audience on a deep level. With this tale and the previous story (LICENCE TO THRILL), Tori Carrington is forty percent complete towards a royal flush.
