5.0 out of 5 stars Part of the Magnificent McCoys -- this book is manificent!, March 11, 2000
This review is from: P.I. Who Loved Her (The Magnificent Mccoy Men) (Temptation, 776) (Paperback)
In THE PI WHO LOVED HER, we get Mitch McCoy's love story.

Seven years ago, Liz Braden walked away from Mitch and their wedding without a backwards glance. Now she's back in town, wearing a wedding dress that's covered in blood. Mitch's PI instincts kick into high gear. When she walked away from him all those years ago the only thing bleeding was his broken heart. What's she left the would-be-groom bleeding with this time?

Liz is home. She thinks she's running away from a bad situation, but could it be she's running toward something? Back to the man she'd loved and lost? Can the past be rekindled? Or is it possible that the flames of love that burned between her and Mitch never really died?

I've read every book Tori Carrington's written and feel I can honestly say that their work just keeps getting better and better. I loved Mitch and Liz's story and can't wait until the next McCoy installment!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun romance that I enjoyed a lot, March 14, 2000
This review is from: P.I. Who Loved Her (The Magnificent Mccoy Men) (Temptation, 776) (Paperback)
Mitch McCoy does not begrudge his brother Marc's euphoria after marrying Melanie, but he could not handle all that family happiness that oozed in Maryland over the event. Marc's ceremony reminds Mitch of his own time at the altar seven years ago when his bride failed to show up. Mitch gracefully leaves for his Manchester, Virginia home.

On a two-lane road, Mitch sees a woman standing near her broken down car. His heart slam-dunks his brain when he realizes that the stranded motorist is Liz Braden, the woman who jilted him. She is wearing a wedding dress, which tells Mitch that flighty Liz has punished another groom. The wedding dress has a bloodstain that worries the sleuthing side of Mitch. However, P.I. aside, Mitch knows he still desires Liz, but does not trust her anymore. While unraveling the mystery behind why the only woman he ever loved recently fled Boston, he plans to bed her without a marriage license.

The second novel in the "Magnificent McCoy Men" mini series is a wonderful romantic intrigue that will have readers anxiously awaiting book three. THE P.I WHO LOVED HER is pure fun as the lead protagonist struggles with his love for a woman who deserted and embarrassed him while wanting to keep her safe from whomever is after her. While readers will bond with the compassionate male lead, Liz is an enigmatic person whose plight will touch the audience on a deep level. With this tale and the previous story (LICENCE TO THRILL), Tori Carrington is forty percent complete towards a royal flush.
