This book provides the most practical and useful teaching techniques that I have read in a education textbook. I work as a teacher and, many of the suggestions she makes are very effective in the classroom. The author also gives suggestions from a Christian point of view. The book is also short and to the point (something rarely found in education textbooks!) Overrall this book is a good read and a useful classroom tool for new or inexperienced teachers.

The book provided a wealth of information on the importance of behavioral management. Practical applications and technique provide the educator with ready-to-use suggestions on building and maintaining effective classroom management techniques. As a professor within a Christian university, I plan to incorporate this reading into many class discussions and devotions on guiding corrective student behavior.

First, I must say that while this book may be from a Christian perspective, it does not lack in content. I actually like it more because it takes what researchers have already said about encouragement and assessment and it condenses it into this very small and easy to read book. This is the second Ackerman book I have read for my college courses and I really enjoyed them both.

This book might be ok for a beginning teacher who has never been in a class. I had to read this for a graduate level class and this book might be useful in your first behavior class.

This is a great brief overview of how to manage student behavior in the classroom. It is written from a Christian perspective, but is applicable to both public and private school teaching. I enjoyed reading it, and recommend it for anyone who wants a quick read on classroom management.

This is the first behavior management book I have read. Dr. Ackerman has given me some tools to start with when it comes to dealing with difficult students.
