For singles, and couples, Kid 606 is your new lover., October 30, 2001
Kid 606 used to make some cruel, anarchistic noise, worthy of an Advil and a warm wettened towlette over your eyes and specially coagulated foam plugs for the sensitive canals of your ears.
Now he has grown up into a gentle, goofy adult, making a noise that is closer to something that two people, both interested in elitist IDM music, might want to make love to. This, and its predecessor, PS I Love You, are Kid 606's love albums.
This is the Barry White of electronica records. Each track is a sexy romper that makes hips swagger and tongues waggle. This is the Al Green of IDM remix albums. It's got all the salty lick and spittle of a good time between two souls locked together for up to 20 minutes. This is the a good thing.
Matmos put out their sluttiest, funkiest track ever. One of the best works they've ever screwed together. Atom Heart and Farben have both erected wet masterpieces of post-house click n cut.
I suggest this album for lovers, and those with great dexterity. (There are so many lonely elitist men in the world of underground electronica, sad sad men who show more delicacy with their hi fi equipment than with other members of our respectable species, and are left to croon to themselves -- sad)
It's good, this Kid 606 remixer.

Fun, July 23, 2002
I was riding with my friend the other night and I noticed that there was some curiously good electronic music playing. I asked him what it was, and when he told me it was Kid606 I went nuts. I've heard about Kid606, but I didn't want to go out and buy a CD and have it turn out to be garbage. From what I've read about Kid606 is that his early work is often described as "schozophrenic". Well the music on this CD is definately NOT that. In fact, if I had to put it in a genre, which I hate doing, I'd say it is rather soothing Intelligent Dance Music. I'm a veteran fan of electronic music, and I've been wondering if IDM even exists outside of WARP records and Subconscious communications, and this album from Kid606 confirms that it can indeed happen. Not only is it happening, but it's happening really good. Since I got this album two days ago it hasn't left the CD player. It isn't at all harsh like his earlier work, but it certainly won't put you to sleep either!...
If you really appreciate electronic music, but this. If you like good music that is ahead of it's time, but this.

So-So, December 24, 2003
This album is up and down. Some of the tracks are subdued, hypnotic, and have a really nice, subtle, tech-house quality. Others are self-indulgent and obnoxious (and not in a good way). I say buy the album, rip the songs you like, and resell it to your local CD shop.
