5.0 out of 5 stars J Alba With a New York Accent
If you wanna see Jess in a hilarious role then this is the movie for you. It's a kid's movie, so you know it's kind of "lame", but that's in a good way. Jess (Samantha Swaboda) is a tough chick who knows how to break into cars among other things. She runs with the PUNKS on a special life-threatening mission. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not Patrik Ian Polk's film
If you type in Patrik Ian Polk's name on Amazon this film comes up. This is NOT Patrik Ian Polk's film of the same name which as of this date has not yet been released on DVD. Amazon should correct the listing, but in the meantime, be aware this is not director Polk's film. The one star is for the mistaken listing, not for this film which I have never seen.

Wow! this movie is good for the whole family! but the only reason why i got this is so i can se the beautiful Jessica Alba, she has a cool New York accent and shows a different side of her. The other kids performance was funny, when they were wrestling in there room, i laughed my butt off. I loved this movie and i loved Jessica's performance! if your a Jessica Alba fan then go out and gt this!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great mix of action and comedy, September 6, 1999

Over all, I'd say that this is one of Disney's better family movies of late. Just the right amounts of both action and comedy. Tim Redwine was fantastic as the neglected son, and even better as the PUNKS leader, but Brandon Baker was the funniest. Especially when he had the Augmentor on and was dancing around making Henry Winkler look like a fool. Of course The Fonz was awesome, as always, even as the bad guy.

5.0 out of 5 stars P.U.N.K.S. is the best Disney Channel movie ., July 29, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: P.U.N.K.S. (DVD)
This movie was the best ever. The young Jessica Alba is awesome. I love that New York accent. This is a story about a neglected son, whose dad is building a highly powerful robotic suit. However, he does not know he is building it for a villian (Randy Quaid). So his son gathers up a team of friends. And to know the rest of the movie you must buy it. :)

It took a long time to decide to buy this film despite being a long time Jessica Alba fan even she was not impressed with her work here. My daughter convinced me and thought it was a super film hence the rating. Miss Alba steals the show despite her accent which I think she should have avoided...but she was probably the most real actor in the show.

My children enjoyed the film and recommeneds.

Okay, so I bought this DVD for the sole purpose of completing my Jessica Alba movie collection. (Yeah, I know. She's only like sixteen in it, but so what? In some southern states that's considered legal.) And I guess I expected it to suck, but I honestly had no idea a movie could suck this bad. It features that ubiquitous fat red-headed dork that was in like every kid movie ever made in the 90's, and Henry Winkler in a role that forever erases the cool points he earned as the Fonz.

The story is so bad, the acting so horrible, that it's almost unwatchable. ALMOST. That's where Jessica Alba saves the day. She is so cute, and has the most incongruous, fake New York accent; I couldn't stop cracking up every time she talked. Her acting was so cheesy, it had an endearing quality to it that just won me over. I don't even remember the rest of the movie, but I guess if you've got some kids you could prop them up in front of the TV and they'd shut up for an hour-and-a-half. And there's no naughty parts so I suppose you could consider yourself a good parent for doing it.

Apropos "naughty", though: the scene where Jessica Alba is tied up with her dweeby pals is somehow more erotically stimulating than her bondage scene in her later movie "Paranoid", filmed when she was old enough to vote. (You can read my review of that crappy movie if you have lots of free time on your hands and get off on reading mean-spirited slams.)

In summation, BUY THIS MOVIE! Jessica Alba wears black spandex pants. 'Nuff said.

This is one ofmy favorite disney channel movies! When it first came out I couldn't get enough of it. Now that it's on DVD Ican watch it whenever I want.
Also, Jessical Alba is great in this movie. That's the main reason why I love it so much!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not your average "kid" movie, July 24, 1999

Okay, I admit that I picked up this film to watch up-and-coming film hottie Jessica Alba, and if you're a big fan of hers, that's probably why you'll want to watch this movie, too. Overall, P.U.N.K.S. is a pretty decent film and almost (emphasis on ALMOST) bearable to watch.

P.U.N.K.S. is an acronym for the heroes' last names: Pasiotopolis, Utley, Nygren, Kitchen, and Swaboda. The main hero decides that he's had enough being bullied by the school jocks and bands together a group of other kids to stand up for the underdogs, the oppressed. As a means to carry out their righteous cause, the group uses an experimental augmentor--or strength enhancer--that the hero's father helped design.

On a side note, as a fan of both comics and professional wrestling, I was glad to see that the hero's inspiration to become a team of crusaders fighting for the weak was none other than Marvel Comics' X-Men. Both the comic book and action figures were featured prominently in the movie. Another character is a wrestling fanatic, and he carries out his fantasy whenever he dons the augmentor by calling himself the Undertaker, of WWF fame.

In the end, it's an "okay" movie, but if it wasn't for Jessica Alba, I'd give this movie at least 3 1/2 stars or a 4.

Seems like a pretty dumb movie to me but my younger brother and sister love this movie. They spent years laughing and quoting this movie.
