OK, so I'm 24 and I've had subwoofers in my cars ever since my first one. I've had Sony's, Rockfords and Alpine Type R's. Most recently have been my Rockford's. The car they were in, I wrecked. I transfered the subs to my new car, and needless to say they were ruined. So being strapped for cash I began looking at new subs, coming across the Boss Phantoms.
I have just one 12 right one (to test it out) hooked up to my Rockford p3001 amp, putting out 500 RMS at 2 ohms. WOW. Just this one speaker, hits harder than my Rockfords, and for fifty bucks? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm highly impressed with the response, punch and loudness of the speaker. The only thing that I could say is towards probably about 40hz and down, they get unresponsive. They're rated to 25 hz I believe, but this isn't really a big deal to me. Other than that, I can't wait to throw another 12 in my trunk and let these bad boys rip my car apart. It's honestly, disgusting.

I have 4 of these subs in my jeep now hooked to 2 4000 watt pyle amps at one ohm. I tuned the boxes to 33hz each. A friend of mine has 3 audio q's in his car and he paid close to 2000 for his entire system. When I told him I was buying these 50 dollar subs from boss he laughed. My wallet has always been smaller than him so I have to go cheap.. I found these subs here on amazon and took a chance, and man I am glad I took the chance. I out pounded his system by FAR. I have pushed these subs to their max and have had no problems. They stay cool even with 1150watts going to each speaker. You will not go wrong buying these subs. The guy with the 2 star review........ Well all i got to say is you have to know your limits. I broke these subs in slowly over 3 days. And have been absolutely pounding the @#*! out of these subs for a while now Theyre holding strong!

I bought this sub a week and a half ago... got it 3 days ago... i opened the box to see this amazing sub and what do i find?... the dust cover (center of the sub) is off and on the bottom of the box... and the ring around the sub that says boss on it is barely holding on.... (I WAS PISSED OFF!!) all that waiting and what do i get? a sub thats falling apart before i even take it out of the box?!! thats horrible... i reccomend just saving your money and buying a good quality sub... sorry boss audio... i gave you a shot and you blew it... :( the sub isnt horrible sounding... it doesnt even take 2300 watts (i hooked it up to a Power Acoustik 2200/2 channel amp and it was distorted at 1/2 volume) well if you wanna pound in the cab and hear nothing outside then its a good sub but if you wanna shake the ground, get an alpine type-x 12 or an alpine type-r 15 (great subs kinda spendy tho)
