Works fine but not only detects hidden cameras,

Ok, it works fine but not only detects hidden cameras. As says in the description "Detects frequencies from 50MHz to 3GHz" so if you have anything that works in between those frequencies this detector will found it and the alarm will be activated (even though is not a hidden camera).

Every store that sells this seems to charge different amounts (from $17 and up) and different shipping costs (from $4 to $14), so if you must buy it, shop around. But I suggest you not buy it and wait until something better comes along. Sure, it beeps and the light flashes, but it does this ALL OVER THE PLACE. Either the CIA is monitoring my activities in every room of my house and where I work, or this thing can't discern between the myriad waves that are apparently traveling through the air everywhere. It beeps by light switches. It beeps by windows. It beeps near computers. It beeps near TVs. It beeps at solid walls. It beeps in the middle of rooms. If it detects and alerts you to everything, how can you tell if one of the alerts is actually a camera? Well, you can't.

You never know!,

I have used this device in many restrooms, only 1 out of about 20 had it go off, it was in a localized area (next to the wall)! I even used it at work! My boss claimed to have a wireless camera installed "for security". Well, it was a fake! I tested it! NOTHING! No beep, no flashing of the light! I USED TO go tanning at an upscale salon chain. Not any more! I went in one dimly lit room and it went off RIGHT in front of a large mirror, I thought "false alarm" and asked the sales girl for a different room, the same exact thing happened in that room! It didn't go off all over the room, just in a localized spot! I asked her about the frequencies and if the tanning beds would effect them and she said no. I canceled my membership! There was once it went off in a friends apartment randomly, I forgot to turn it off after leaving a restroom, and when to her place, after about 20 minutes it started going off (it was sitting in my purse and hadn't moved since I got to her place) then stopped for a minute, then went off again, then stopped(FALSE ALARM). But the times it was in the tanning salon ( and the one restroom) it was a steady beeping (and flashing) in the a localized area(it beeps faster as it gets closer to the "camera"). I bought the for about $25.00 at ThinkGeek. I am SO glad I did! You just never know!

it found my wireless headset at work, but did not find my wireless mouse.
there was nothing else it found, probably a good thing, but since it did not find the mouse, it leaves me wondering.....

weird but true story,
This review is from: P3 INTERNATIONAL Camera Detector (Electronics)
ever had that feeling somebody is watching you or listening? well i had that feeling, and decided to see if there was cheap detectors that even worked. my research led me to this. searching if i could get it somewhere locally where i lived led me to radio shack (which stopped selling them soon after all of this happen). i called radio shack and asked them if they had them in stock, and the store manager said yes. so i got in the car and went there. got it, and was walking out, when store manager said i forgot stuff on the counter. went back to counter, got my belongings and half way to door two men in suits flashed badges at me and said they needed to confiscate my purchase. the store manager came to my defense, and threatened to call police for harassing me. i left the store kinda shook up, and noticed the two guys were following me home. once home i noticed they were parked to far to make license plate out, but got that funny feeling again, and decided to turn on my p3 camera detector. it immediately went off. as one person stated the closer you are to the source, its obvious. it only went off in the direction of the car who followed me home. so i decided to start walking toward the parked car with the p3 detector on and going crazy. once they noticed i was coming toward them, the car started and they took off very fast. immediately the p3 detector stopped. within hrs the same car was back, but parked in a different spot. p3 went crazy again. decided to call police, while on phone with police the car left. cops came & left (no car to check out).
four days passed and noticed car was back, turned on p3, went crazy. this time i sent text to friend to call police that car was back. within minutes the cops were all around this car. after that one of the cops (family friend of many yrs) came up to the house, and said "what did you do?" i responded what do you mean? he said i cant tell you who they are, but watch what you say on the phone, cause certain keywords trigger alarms with these people. still dont know what i said, and more carefully what i say on telephone. p.s. i have taken the speaker out now, so i can detect if being listened to without alerting those who could be listening. for weeks now when i talk on phone, i can tell im being listened in on. As says in the description "Detects frequencies from 50MHz to 3GHz" so if you have anything that works in between those frequencies this detector will find it and the alarm will be activated (even though is not a hidden camera).

First I want to be clear, I have no issues with the merchant. The merchant was helpful and the item was delivered quickly.
The device is terrible. All it does is beep. It beeps everywhere. In the middle of a field with nothing around you and no cell phones. All it does is beep. The device is terrible
