not worth it,

This review is from: P3 International P7901 Mole Chaser (Lawn & Patio)
after over a month of using the molechaser, I still have dirt piles popping up all over my yard. Some of these are only 6 feet away from where I placed the device.I followed the instructions, shelled out money for 4 D-cell batteries, and still no luck. I think one of the neighborhood cats got to one of the moles -- my dog carried it to the back door like it was some sort of prize that she wanted to share with me. Alas, the dirt piles still dot the landscape of my mole infested lawn. My advice would be to save your money and buy a couple gallons of milk instead -- to entice your neighborhood cats to patrol your lawn and garden.

Chasing Dreams.....,

The product documentation claims it takes several days for the sound emitted from the Mole Chaser to chase the buggers away....well 21 days and counting and Mr. Mole is still dinimg on my garden. Take my advise, buy the poison and save yourself from wasting money on the Molechaser!

Goodbye moles,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Been using these things for about ten years. Moved to a new house; left my old ones at the previous house and just installed these. They work as advertised. In the first couple of weeks the moles may burrow right up to them to find out what is making all of the racket. Once they figure out that the sound isn't going away, they go away. No kidding. BTW, you (or your pets) don't hear the racket.

Mole attracter !,

I have fought moles for years. I have tried poison pellets, gassers, the old water hose, etc. and nothing works. (I have not set traps because I don't want to dig another hole in the lawns.) I bought the Molechaser. I was taken in by another dream seller. Hills popped up less than three feet from the new device. Save your money. Even at half price, it is a rip-off!!!

Yes, they work - Ignore negative reviews,

Often, when mechanical or electronic items such as this receive negative reviews, it's due to user error. I will tell you that after using this product for over 10 years that they work, and they work well. I've used them at three different homes in various settings. Yes, you must follow the instructions and keep them supplied with fresh batteries, but is that so difficult?
These work because Gophers, Moles and Voles perceive them as a persistent threat. They will in fact, burrow straight up to unit in order to investigate a possible intruder on their turf. This does not mean it's not working. When they find they cannot intimidate this inanimate object, they will then become frustrated and annoyed by the constant and unrelenting underground buzz and vacate the area for quieter surroundings. (Think living next door to a rock band.) My only complaint with these is that they don't make them with a DC power connection. Although the elements may intrude with such a connection, it would save on batteries if they could figure out how to accomplish it. One tip: When you load the batteries into the holder, don't drop the holder into the cylinder. It can break the electronics. Lower it gently and it will survive for many years. My advice: Buy the middle of the road model (with the silver aluminum shaft). The black plastic shaft on the base model could be damaged by impact (shovel) and high end model isn't worth the money for the small increase in power. These will effectively cover a 500 sq. ft. area.

This Doesn't Work,
By
This review is from: P3 International P7901 Mole Chaser (Lawn & Patio)
Last year I bought a new house, and it came with some furry friends in the backyard. After a few frustrating months of trying various smelly things, flooding their holes, and some of the other non-poisonous methods, I decided to give a sonic device a shot. This was the one I actually tried. In fact, I put two of them in my backyard. For the first four or five months I thought that they were doing a great job. They they seemed to stop working. They were still making that annoying sound every minute, but every few mornings I would find another mound in the yard. Suddenly it occured to me why. Over the winter, few birds visited the feeders, and very little seed was scattered. Now the seed was being scattered, and the furry scavangers were back. What finally helped in my case was to remove the turf under the feeders, put some poison pellets down, cover it up with landscaping faberic and lava rock. (I didn't want my dog or cat accidently getting at the poison.) I stompped-down a couple more mounds over the next two weeks (they didn't break through the fabric), and then it stopped. They either moved back to whichever neighbor was providing them with better, less poisonous, easier to get to food, or they died. I can't believe I put up with that constant, stupid buzzing from the sonic mole chasers for as long as I did. My backyard is peaceful again. I've heard some people swear these things worked. And for the first few months I would have believed them. The concept is correct: You want to make your yard uninviting. But frankly, I think the sound bothered me as much as them, and once the food source came back, they tollerated the noise just as many humans tollerate jobs they hate. If you want to eat, an annoying noise eventually becomes a minor thing.

I bought this Molechaser(P7901)15 months ago, originally to protect my flower beds, where moles were bodily heaving the plants right out of the soil. Over the next 4-6 weeks, I found no improvement at all, and new mounds within inches of the device.
For years, moles had also been tearing up the lawn, so as the flower bed was not benefiting from the device, I moved it to the lawn. MIRACLE! The moles left within 2 or 3 days and never came back. I've been asking myself why the difference, and wondering if the soil could be the determining factor. The flower bed has 3-4" of good topsoil (great for worms, which I'm sure the moles appreciate), but underneath that, it's very rocky clay, almost impossible to dig through, so I was not able to bury the device to its full depth. The lawn, on the other hand, is fairly consistent solid clay, and I was able to insert it all the way. Now whether it's the rockiness of the flower bed subsoil, or the depth at which it was planted, I'm not sure. But I'm buying a second one and hope I can find a way for it to work in the flower bed.

The moles are attracted to it!,
This review is from: P3 International P7901 Mole Chaser (Lawn & Patio)
Don't waste your time or money on any of these products. None of them work. The moles tunneled right over to this device and piled up mounds of dirt right next to it. My neighbor has two sonic mole chasers and those don't work either. You have to kill them to get rid of them, but more will always come back. I have killed several with the spike traps, but more return. There is no way to get rid of moles forever.

Moles ? What Moles?,

I had moles tunneling throughout my yard before I bought the P3. I put one in the back yard and another one in the front. It has been a month now and there are no signs of moles in my yard at all. I would recommend these for anyone that has a mole problem.
