5.0 out of 5 stars Great all rounder
Excellent motherboard, price is a bargain for sli-motherboard, it is compatible with the new 45nm processors (which I use now: q9450), I was going to buy the Asus striker extreme, but the motherboard heatsinks are all over the place, and I can't place a bigger cpu heatsink/cooler. 2.0 out of 5 stars Great specs so-so stability... It's just ASUS issue
Great specs on this p5n-d motherboard & great price on amazon! Very compatible, but at the end of the day it's still an ASUS. I have 5 ASUS boards & every single one has problems @ 1 time or another. I buy them based on spec & rma them when the fail... Always happens! So if ur looking for mobo stability, look somewhere else because ASUS can not provide. This is my...

It is a decent motherboard overall, great bios and easy overclocking and not to mention stable as well. With this motherboard, I am able to place a zalman cnps9700, and also a 2 slot 8800gts. If want to buy a motherboard that has 3 or even 4 way sli, this is not for you, I recommend anyone not to buy that redundancy, because I was able to achieve 17000 3d marks with just one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stable, capable, best affordable SLI board, January 29, 2009

This review is from: ASUS P5N-D LGA775 Nvidia 750i DDR2-800 ATX Motherboard (Electronics)
This board is simply great. It's very stable and handles everything on my system quite well. The SLI is fast and this board is probably the cheapest you can go for SLI and still get a great product. The onboard CPU management is really helpful. It doesn't overuse wattage or waste CPU processes by automatically adjusting your voltages. All my drivers work great after the bios update.

I have no complaints about the board. It's simply great for the price. I bought this thing to replace a blown board. It uses solid state so it's much more stable hardware. I also didn't want to pay for a good SLI board since I plan on a new board when USB 3 comes out. So if you just need something to get by, this is it. I run two 9500GT cards on it and play most games at full res 60fps or more.

Very good board. Lots of BIOS options. Also lots of helpful options for overcloking. I have code 2 quad 2.4 Mhz (Q6600), 4 GB, nVidia 880 GT and Windows Vista. It is quite fast. Haven't overclocked it but planning to do it. So far temperature is quite OK 38/40 in CPU and 40/42 in board. I added a Masscool 8WA741 for the CPU though, since my plans are to overclock. Ah! don't forget you need a 64 bits OS if you want to use more than 3 GB.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best customer service ever, except the Fedex part., September 28, 2009

This review is from: ASUS P5N-D LGA775 Nvidia 750i DDR2-800 ATX Motherboard (Electronics)
I bought this board to replace my ECS 945PL-A. Never get ECS. Anyway, I bought this board used, from a private individial, off a 3rd party site. When I got it, neither PCIe slot worked (had to bug the people at the computer store te let me borrow a PCI card to confirm the issue). After that I called ASUS, told the the aforementioned string of the aqusiotion, and the operator said "OK, give me your email adress, and we'll send you the RMA procedure."

Never asked how old the board was, never checked anything with warrenty with me (although they did have the serial number), never give me a moments hassle in replacing the board. It was actually easyer getting an RMA than getting the guy at the post office to put a strip of tape on the package.

Also, and I'm not sure about this, but the board arrive in a FEDEX box that hab been turned inside out by the seller. ASUS ships FEDEX, so I have reason to suspect this board had been RMAd before. Sorry, I just had to brag on ASUS, I am happy beyond words with the customer servive. Even if FEDEX was a week late.

On to the review, if the processors name has a P,D,E,or Q in it, this board will run it fine. My last board said Pentium D 950 supported, but only the C1 stepping, I ordered a B1 in ignorange of that specification. Lost some money. ASUS just wrote a new BIOS (1101) 6 months ago when the new Core 2 revisions came out. Also, this thing is fast. Most people don't realize the impact of the board on speed, but it was like the 950 was unlocked. Add to that the ability to overclock everthing but the PSU, and you have a major contender for a Crysis rig for less than $700.

My system 28SEPT09
ASUS P5N-D
Pentium D 950 (for sale here $145) upgrading to C2Q Q8200
Cricial PC2-6400
Corsair TX750
No GPU yet, getting a GTX260 in a week or so, want to the new game bundles.

5.0 out of 5 stars ASUS P5N-D, Great LGA775 Motherboard!, March 24, 2011

This review is from: ASUS P5N-D LGA775 Nvidia 750i DDR2-800 ATX Motherboard (Electronics)
The entire line of ASUS motherboards are great value for your money but the P5N-D owns the LGA775 market. It supports up to 8GB of DDR2 RAM, dual SLI, and up to the Intel Core 2 Extreme with a FSB of 1333 MHZ. The available slots include dual PCI-E x16, x1, and PCI enabling the installer to utilize both todays and yesterdays legacy hardware. 4 Sata, 1 IDE, 1 Floppy give this one a good all around upgrade value. The onboard Realek 7.1 HD sound ensures your games and music will come through with all the booming thunder you want and more. The front and rear panel connection points ensure your easy use and expandability now and in the future. To round it all out ASUS put the nVidia nForce 750i SLI chipset on this board to make any SLI configuration seamless and flawless. This is just another case of ASUS bringing value to the industry.

I purchased this to replace a mobo whose RAM slots went bad. Great replacement, but please note that this only has one IDE slot. If you're trying to replace in kind for a replacement motherboard, and you have two IDE cables you need to plug in, this won't do. I had to purchase a SATA HDD and plugged my two optical drives into the IDE port. Otherwise, works great and is cheap!

5.0 out of 5 stars Asus Rules, June 6, 2010

This review is from: ASUS P5N-D LGA775 Nvidia 750i DDR2-800 ATX Motherboard (Electronics)
I have used Asus Motherboards forever. On my last build update I decided to try a Gigabyte board because of it's good reviews.

That was a mistake. The board worked ok but had small annoying problems with Windows 7. My biggest gripe was it would not wake up after being asleep for a couple of hours. I tried a couple of solutions I found in some forums but it still would not wake up in the morning.

I switched back to Asus and the problem went away.

I will only use Asus boards from now on.

Asus P5N-D
LGA 775
GTX 280

Started gameing with the original Doom, hooked on Fallout 3 and Boarderlands.

Asus is the Bee's knee's

5.0 out of 5 stars Asus P5N-D Mother Board, January 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ASUS P5N-D LGA775 Nvidia 750i DDR2-800 ATX Motherboard (Electronics)
Wonderful mother board. Runs quiet after u configure fan in bios to optimal. Installation was of ease & all drivers installed by them selves under Win 7 Ultimate except 1, which was on the included driver cd. I've always loved Asus mobos and haven't been let down by one yet. Has plenty of on board sata slots, usb headers, and still retains an extra ide & floppy connector. Other than that, I was able to run my old P4 775 3.0Ghz processor & memory, because this mobo supports so many processors. In the long run, I can still upgrade my processor to a Quad Core.

This review is from: ASUS P5N-D LGA775 Nvidia 750i DDR2-800 ATX Motherboard (Electronics)
P5N-D Although this mobo only runs ddr2-fsb 800-max mem 8g, the bios is profoundly intricate in the numerous versatility and adaptive ability (this board is sold with updated bios 2010) with numerous hardware, but most of all this board is a 2.0 PCIE with dual SLI 16X (both cards at 16X 2.0). My system couldn't find hardware LAN and cannot install UUA HD, which is on the mobo, I did many troubleshoots along with ASUS support (excellent) but no success so I had to send it back. Note: I tried to apply for replacement with Amazon but none at the time. This board is still a good board for the money in competing in todays gaming / 3D market.

Been building these since the IBM AT clone kits.
ASUS has never let me down and this mobo is no exception.
All the cables.
A terrific manual that's well written and illustrated.
No complaints.
It's so nice, I bought 2 and built it twice....
