I have to agree with the review written by Giles Duesdieker. These bands, although EXCELLENT QUALITY, are somewhat mislabeled. On the actual P90X website, this package is called the "Resistance Bands (Women)" set. If you are male, you will probably not need this set. After doing further research, for the official Beach Body resistance bands, these are the corresponding weights that each color represents:

Teal 5 lbs
Purlpe 10 lbs
Pink 15 lbs
Magenta 20 lbs
Orange 25 lbs
Red 30 lbs
Yellow 35 lbs
Green 40 lbs
Blue 45 lbs
Black 50 lbs

A little bit of false advertising by Beachbody here. The quality of the resistance bands is very good, but the product was not what I expected. The bands in the set are not what I would call "light, medium, and heavy" but rather provide "minimal, mild, and moderate" resistance. My fault for not being more cautious about enquiring about their description (the pink and purple colors after all should have been a tipoff), but as a P90X "graduate" the bands are just way too light for me, and might be more appropriate for someone who is "modifying" their workouts which may be too strenuous. I gave them to my wife and ordered other colors separately. Buyer beware!

I have probably done what everyone else has and picked up resistance bands from Walmart or Target. The bands from Walmart or Target are very thin and break very easily. The P90X bands are very thick and create the best resistance out there. The handles are interchangeable and very comfortable to use. I would recommend this product to anyone.

For the price, it wouldn't have been terribly hard to throw in 3 sets of handles instead of two. Requires stopping to switch handles mid work-out which is annoying. Also would have been good to include the little velcro door stop that allows you to close a door on the bands and attach it securely to the door. Otherwise, resistance is fine and calibrates as the packaging shows.

My husband and I are doing P90X - love it! Bought a set of bands to go with it and just in to week three, the pink one my husband was using burst, so I will be sending it back for a replacement. He's a strong guy, but less than three weeks?

I am a female, 5'6' and about 146 lbs. I thought these bands would be suitable for me (have worked out for years but not with bands) since doing the P90X workout was new to me. The lightest band is of no use to me (15 lbs.). I have used the medium band (magenta 20 lbs.) but use the heavy band (red 30 lbs.) for most of the exercises. I will have to purchase a separate band as I continue to get stronger while completing the program(only into week 2 and need a heavier band). You can purchase individual bands in stores like Sports Authority for about the same price. I do like the handles - they are comfortable. The quality is good. Just know how strong you are before purchasing because these could end up being a waste of your money if you have a lot of upper body strength.

I tried out these resistance bands, and first of all let me give you a mental picture of myself. I am 5'10" 172lbs and in relatively good shape, I can touch the basketball rim, do 100 push-ups, 20 pull-ups, and do single leg squats 20 each side. These bands are not for heavy lifters but for those who would like to do high repetitions. If you want bands with higher resistance, I suggest you visit the Sports Authority as I saw some resistance bands which varied in resistance from 30-100 lbs with the handles allowing to place one to three bands allowing more flexibility with the weight. I bought these for my son who is doing P90X and he loves them! Before that I'd given him some old resistance bands of mine but there is a world of difference between the two. These are very nice with their different levels of resistance and handles. They seem a very good quality too.

I bought these for P90X because they were "necessary". I bought the bands and my brother bought the free weights. Free weights are WAY better and WAY less expensive. The bands are definately awkward to work with at first. I never really got past the "at first" part with them cuz I switched to weights. Anyway, if your heart is set on them, fine. But it's already hard enough to do the P90X routines WITHOUT adding the awkward bands.

Arrived timely and a great product but it didn't come with a strap to use it overhead with the P90X program. Ended up buying a cheap band that came with a strap so I could use it. BTW the colors are not the same as the icon - there is a maroon, red and red/orange with no label as to which one is which.
