The Gold Standard of push-up bars,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: P90X Pro-Grade PowerStands Push-Up Stands: Ergonomic, Non-Skid, Foam-Grip, Heavy-Duty (Misc.)
These are simply the best bars I've used. They're taller than any other bars I've used, thus I get a much deeper stretch. The circular base grants far more stability than any other bar out there. For standard width push-ups most bars will do fine. But when you start going wider or want to do moving push-ups or go real narrow, other bars can roll on you. These are almost impossible to roll. These suckers are heavy duty and are metal, through and through. My only beef is that the foam could be a little more comfy. But, hey, we're working out here. Lastly, the tilted handles make all the different angles you can work from as easy on the wrists as can be.
The bottom line: These are the best you're going to get. If you just need to do basic push-ups then the other, cheaper bars will be just fine. If you're looking to get advanced, throw a bunch of different angles and widths in there and need something sturdy, these are the ones for you. Sure they're a little more expensive. But short of running over them in a tank I can't see ever having to buy another pair again. . .ever.

I did a lot of research regarding which items were necessary for the PX90 program. Everyone online said you could find suitable substitutes for most of the items, but the PX90 PowerStands were hands down the best investment. I was still hesitant to purchase them though, $52.90 seemed steep compared to other items on the market.
Well, they just arrived today and I was shocked at the quality of this product....EXCELLENT! The photos absolutely don't do this product justice. 1. The base of the stands are 11 inches in diameter. 2. The handles are long enough to suit large hands, but the 2" diameter is great for smaller hands. The foam padding is thick and comfortable under pressure (I'm 220 lbs). 3. The incline of the handles is very comfortable...I have carpel tunnel, so I was worried about hand position. I tried these out and they alleviated significant wrist pain while doing push-ups. 4. The bottom of the stands has a think pad, so no worries about damage to your home floors. If you're in doubt, don't be. Spend the money and buy the PX90 PowerStands, they will last a lifetime. Now that I have them in my possession, I'm surprised they don't cost more money. I hope this review helps you with the decision process.

Granted, these are a bit on the expensive side. But when you see them in person, they will change your mind. I just got them today, and man they are worth every penny. They are pretty big, they are made of metal, no plastic here. on the bottom they have high quality rubber for non-slip. and the handles are very comfortable. These will push you to the limit as they give a deep stretch. They go great with the P90x program. highly recommended.

Don't Price Yourself out of a great Program,

P90X is a great program. Check Craigslist for unopened, new 2nd hand and just get started. $50.00 PUSH UP BARS??!!
Listen to me. The $20 push up bars from Walmart and the $11.99 'bands' also sold on Amazon are perfectly fine. Don't price yourself out of a wonderful workout program. I've done P90x for a year and promise all you need is the DVDs and the desire. My pushup bars are the plastic type from Walmart and have 'never' rolled on me. I bought the bands 'red, purple, blue' on Amazon[[...]], but actually got REAL lucky and found "PowerBlock 5-50 Lbs adjustable weights" on Craigslist for only $175 for the pair, otherwise bands work GREAT. I also had a 'chin-up, dip' (tower thing) I bought from Walmart YEARS ago, so I do the real chin-ups and stuff until I'm too weak then use bands. (started with '2', now I can do '10' pullups) This review is ONLY for the person trying to price themselves out of getting started; otherwise, if you want big overdone pushup bars, then go ahead. Bottom line...GET STARTED ON P90X AND QUIT WAITING TO BUY ALL THIS EXPENSIVE CRAP!! BRING IT! :)

I did like them...,
This review is from: P90X Pro-Grade PowerStands Push-Up Stands: Ergonomic, Non-Skid, Foam-Grip, Heavy-Duty (Misc.)
I bought these push up stands a couple of years ago to complement the P90X program. I do appreciate the sturdiness of them but recently I have noticed the grips on the handles are cracking / rotting making them much less comfortable to use. For $50+ I would expect them to last a little longer than that. I have since replaced them with $12 stands from Target that do the job just as well. Not to mention the new much less expensive stands disassemble making them much more travel friendly. Just my 2 cents...

Buy these stands and you will never have to worry about it again. I've had the ones you can get at local fitness stores that either screw together or made from plastic, they break! The pictures doesn't do this product justice. These stands and bigger than you'd expect, welded together and completely sturdy. They are also higher than they appear/ I thought making it possible to get a 90 degree push up and still have room to spare. Great for getting into deep push up exercises and help keep my form good. I highly recommend these, they were worth every penny and I will have them for a very long time.

My wife thought I had lost my mind when she discovered that I paid [...] for push up bars. However, these bars give a better range of motion and more stability than any other that I have ever used. Also, the handle is angled so that one end is higher than the other. This allows you to change the feel of how much weight you are pushing against in different positions. I do "wide" push ups in addition to standard push ups. I have had other push up bars roll out from under me, but these bars simply cannot roll because they have such a wide base. Overall, these bars are well worth the extra money.

Very stable and sturdy. More comfortable on the wrists than the perfect push-up. (i have both) Allows for deeper movement during push-up.

These are hands down the best push-up stands I have tried. I have tried the Perfect push-up stands and countless other no name brands, did not like them. Non are as comfortable as these. The grip on these are wide and extremely comfortable. I am doing the P90X+ (already completed P90 and P90x) and learned of them from this last series. Wish I would have had them for the first two series. Tony Horton is right, these are awesome. The angle makes doing the million pushups you do on P90X a lot less painful. The base makes these really solid for when you need to do the wide pushup. Only downside is for the material invested in making these, they are pretty expensive. (High profit margin product for Beachbody) But with that being said, I would buy these again.

They are by far the most sturdy push-up stands I've ever had. I have the perfect push-up bars, this are a whole different thing, but they also get the work done. My only complaint is that they are a bit to big, not very portable if you want to take them for a trip, but other than that GREAT PRODUCT.
