Install Complete!! The PAC OEM was exactly what I needed to make the original Mercedes Benz factory harness communicate with my new Pioneer head unit. I ordered the OEM2 and I received a complementary upgrade to the SOEM4, same concept and principle just a newer version....great!. Once I found the right installer that understood how the input and output circuitry worked and the automatic internal remote trigger to turn on the factory amp/speakers, all went well!! Lots of installers told me it could not be done becauce they said I had a "fiber optic" system. Let me explain, the only part of my original factory HU that had fiber optics was the connection to the CD changer in the trunk. Since my new HU had it's own CD/DVD player I had no need for the original player in the trunk so that part was eliminated and the PAC OEM made the perfect connection. All the other installers wanted to re-wire my entire car for hundreds of dollars...YIKES!! Good thing I am not one to give up,I kept searching until I found the right information that helped me understand and the PAC OEM made all the difference. I am enjoying my new HU with my factory Bose system in my 2001 CLK55 AMG!!! Hope this information will help someone else! [...]

Bought this little gadget to connect a Pioneer head unit to my factory Bose sound system in a w210 Mercedes E-class 1998. Got a free upgrade to a newer version (PAC S-OEM4). Installation was fairly easy (I was done in 15 minutes), and it works like a dream, no more popping, crackling or hissing sounds from the speakers. I'm fully satisfied!
