This is a sturdy and stable clarinet stand that hides inside the bell when everything is packed away.

Buy a Hercules unless you're pressed for space.,

I knew when I ordered it that it would be small- after all, they advertise that it stores in the bell. But I was still surprised how small it is. Because it's so small, and has such small legs, it isn't too sturdy. It shakes around, and feels like it'll break. If you must have something that fits inside the bell inside the case, then get it- but if you're not that mobile, or have room for something a little bigger, it might be worth it to spend 25 dollars on a Hercules stand, which looks better. In fact, I might buy one of those.
Edit, about a year later, I think: I've had it for a while now, and it finally broke. It did serve me well while I had it. One of the legs snapped off. It never fell over with the clarinet on it, and it does hold the clarinet. Then again, I never took it onto a crowded stage, or anything. But for around the house, it's fine, and it's great for traveling. I do think I'll buy another one, because I mostly play clarinet away from home now (in the park, etc., so I don't disturb my neighbors in the next apartment) and I don't want to carry another piece of equipment outside my case. (Which is now a shoe box, but that's another space saving story...)

Cheap piece of junk!,

This stand is made out of the cheapest plastic I've ever seen! I bought an inexpensive K &M stand for my flute, which worked great, so I thought this inexpensive stand would work for my daughter's clarinet. But now I can see why reviewers said the legs broke off, but why did they still give it high stars?? The legs are hard to get up and down over the little tabs; it seems like you're going to break it every time you fold one down. You have to fold down each leg individually unlike the K&M's which all come down together and are sturdy metal. Just don't buy this piece of junk!! Just spend a little more to get something decent!!

...or you'll break off one of the needed tabs, like I did! I managed to glue it back. Now I raise the leg off each tab before folding the leg out, and the stand is holding up nicely.

compare with K&M stand,

This is a fine stand. Not as substantial as the K&M competition but that one is significantly longer so it will go into the bell of your clarinet but stick out the other end of the bell for about 1 1/2 inches. So it may be an issue depending on the arrangement of your case. The Pack A Stand fits almost entirely in the bell. In use the Pack a stand is fine but tends to hold on to the inside of the bell so when you pick the instrument up you'll want to put your foot on a leg of the stand to hold it down. The smooth cone of the K&M offers no such problem - the clarinet lifts right off.

Legs break off,

This is a fantastic stand - light weight and packs in the bell - although I wouldn't do that to my bell. However, be careful and check the legs every time you set it up - they break and the stand will tip over.

The stand is nice. It's surely better than nothing, fits in the bell just as described. And yes it's not as sturdy as solid stands but that's to be expected. But it holds it up on my carpet floor just fine, if it gets bumped hard it will fall but most incidental contact it will stay up just fine. On a hard flat surface far more stable of course. I think it was a great purchase and would happily recommend it to others.

Got this on a whim. Really versatile. At first I thought the cheap plastic wouldn't hold up ... but it has. Plus factor - folds up and can be stored in the clarinet bell for traveling - doesn't take up extra valuable space in the clarinet carrying case. Instructions for opening and closing not very clear. Had to fiddle with it some to get it to open and close right (was afraid of breaking because it is cheap plastic material). After figuring out the mechanics of it, very easy to open and close. Works well for your very expensive professional clarinet or for your very inexpensive student model. Highly recommend.

The stand works great for me. I play my clarinet at home and the stand is sturdy enough for the activities that go on. I have not had the opportunity to use the stand with the case but it does fit nicely. Great product and I highly recommend it

Worked great for a while but then the legs started breaking,

The stand was working great for my son. It fit in the bell of his clarinet and kept the clarinet from falling over. We had it for about a year and then one of the legs broke where the clarinet bell seats on the leg...I'm wondering if maybe he was pushing down on the clarinet while it was sitting on the stand. We superglued it which worked well but then another leg broke and when I superglued this one I superglued the joint and it wouldn't fold up anymore so I had to order another stand.
