Love using these mugs. I have tipped one over into our cast iron sink and it didn't even chip!! Just love using glass mugs for my continuous consumption of coffee.

I bought these for the kids to use because they are "almost unbreakable" and have a handle for easy drinking. My 16-month old and 3-yr old use them every meal. Light enough for the kids, yet not so light that they get tipped easily like a plastic cup. They are also easy to clean, unlike other glass mugs we've had that seem to have random divets or an indentation at the handle where residue would always seem to stick. They are sturdy with nicely rounded edges and seem well made. Great buy for the price.

I realize for a few dollars more, I could have purchased a dozen standard glass coffee mugs. But we really didn't need that many, and I wanted a good quality product - And that is what these are.
They are a nice size and have a big handle I can get my fingers into. However, there is a seam that runs down the handle that does tend to imprint into my fingers.
We have dozens of other Ceramic cups we would like to replace with 'Lead Free' glass cups. We plan on purchasing more of these high-strength cups sets.
I have not made an attempt to contest their unbreakable integrity, but they have withstood my everyday use and abuse.

These mugs are great. I was looking for a ceramic mug or a hard plastic mug to carry in my travel trailer while my wife and I camp. I saw these, read the stats and ordered. We have used these camping for our drinking glasses and coffee cups. The mugs have bounced around in our camper while trailing our truck, I have dropped one on the floor and out the door of the camper (as I get older, I seem to drop more things!). We wash them in the dishwasher when we get home... we put them in the microwave. They seem to be indestructible - and, best of all - no plastic taste. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a durable mug for home or travel.

I have had this product for a while and is a great product. The glass mugs that I had before that were another brand did last very long. They broke when dropped.

I haven't dropped these yet but size and quality is very good.

These mugs are perfect for work, where I keep my own mug in the staff dining room and use it for tea, coffee, and water. Glass is really easy to clean and never gets the permanent coffee stains that ceramic mugs can get.

This glass is strengthened to withstand heat (as in the microwave) and resist breakage. When I got these mugs, I told my husband how they claim to have been tested by dropping them over a tile floor from successively greater heights, and they don't break until they're dropped from 7 or 8 feet. My husband wanted a demonstration. I didn't do such an extreme test, but I dropped one on our wood floor from about 5 feet, and it's just fine.

I have the mugs in "Mediterranean Blue," which has been discontinued. They come in "Cobalt Blue" and "Juniper Green," as well as "Clear."

The product page on Amazon said on January 2nd the cups would be available January 12, and the next day, 1/3, I ordered them, and was solemnly told that they would be shipped when available. The next day, 1/4, Amazon tells me the order shipped(?) and is estimated to arrive between January 19 and 21(!) --- which is interesting, and became interestinger when the box landed with a mild thud in front of my at noon, today, 1/6, which I selected to work at home. Six days earlier than putative availability. Is this fast or is this faster?
The cups: as expected, they are much rougher-looking than the image suggested, but since this was expected, it is not a complaint. The lips are thicker than I would like, but they are well-finished, and after some time using and feeling odd about it the feeling goes away. They probably achieve the near-unbreakability by being quite thick and heavy (massive is probably a better word), and in a pinch could provide a work-out. Since I have the odd preference to see that which I drink, and have broken a number of cups I /really/ liked that were very light and elegant, I am willing to try another tack.

These mugs are the regular Libbey mugs but supposedly strengthened with Hercuglass coating.

I bought these more expensive mugs because the non-strengthened mugs occasionally break when pouring hot water for tea, or simmering water through a Melita one-cop coffee funnel. Well these mugs break with the same occasional frequency as the less expensive ones.

The ad says why pay for 12 when you only need 4? I say, why pay for 4 when you can get 12 for the same price?

If they were truly difficult to break, I would recommend them, but if you are going to put hot liquids in them, don't waste your money, get the regular Libbey mugs, they are just as good and you get 12 for the price of 4.

I suppose if you were putting warm coffee from your Mr. Coffee maker they would be OK.

And the manufacturer refunded our money, so they did the right thing.

I have had these for 14 years and bought some more in blue. We love them have never even chipped one.
We did break one when my husband dropped it on the cement. But have never broken one by dropping it in the house.
