4.0 out of 5 stars A review from an experienced Treo user!, August 5, 2005
This review is from: Palm 3206WW Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I am a real estate agent who uses his Treo 650 throughout the day (and night). I found it necessary to buy an ear piece that would allow me the freedom to perform tasks while on the phone, and not look like a Trekkie in front of my clients.

The PalmOne Wireless Headset allows me this freedom. It provides great range, though I usually carry my Treo 650 on my hip in my Seidio Shield Holster (great by the way) or in my pocket. Occasionally I'll set it down and walk away from it while on a call using my headset and if the path is unobstructed between the phone and headset, I get 40+ feet of clear reception.

Keep in mind that you'll need to keep both your headset and Treo on the same side of your body while in use for increased clarity (ie. your treo in your right pocket while your headset on your right ear). If you don't, you'll hear static.

The Good: Useful & Clear (Good technology)

1) Range seems more than sufficient for my needs.
2) Has a sleek appearance that doesn't look bulky like other BlueTooth ear pieces.
2) It connects quickly and consistently to my Treo 650 for answering calls.
3) The volume is more than adequate; I have yet to turn the volume to max on both the headset and the Treo.
4) Clarity is good enough for 90% of my calls.

The Bad: Awkward & Heavy

1) I find myself having to re-center it on my ear every now and then because of the heavy weight causing it to droop or rotate.
2) If I leave it on my ear for long enough it will start to hurt the outside of my ear because of it's awkward fit and weight.
3) Occasionally it won't pick up my calls right away and I'll have to manually press the connect button on the headset to get it to connect.
4) When using the function button on the earpiece, my finger covers the status light (variety of light blinks are important for all functions of earpiece). This is just annoying.
5) Clarity is an issue on 10% of my calls where either both users are on a headset or the connection seems bad. This problem will most likely force one user to switch to using their phone directly.

In Conclusion: I gave this a 4 out of 5 because I find it very useful for my day to day use even though it gets annoying at times. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting the freedom of a wireless headset and who doesn't want to wait for the next lighter version to come out (if ever).

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best headset, September 25, 2005
This review is from: Palm 3206WW Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I love bluetooth, but am looking for a better headset.
The most annoying feature is the one button for every thing.
I'll put it in my bag, and if it gets bumped, it redials the last person I called-without my knowing it.
I've had several people say I called them and they could hear me talking in the background.
If I turn it off, it takes too long to turn it on when a call comes in. It also seems to take a while to answer a call and at times, doesn't.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too many problems - will probably return it, October 24, 2005

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Palm 3206WW Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I have had this headset for 5 days now and have the following problems:

1. The position on my ear is awkward. It flops around and will actually fly off my ear if I turn my head too quickly.
2. The speaker does not line up in front of my eardrum unless I rotate the unit with the mic facing almost upward.
3. Volume is marginal - OK for quiet locations but not for stores, airports, etc.
4. People on the other end report a slight echo. As soon as I deactivate the headset, the echo goes away.
5. I hear a clicking whenever I use it, no matter how close the piece is to my 650.

On the positive side, it uses the same charger as the phone. Ummmm... that's about it.

I really don't want to return this (what a pain!), but I probably will. Just too many problems. I don't understand why some of these problems are reported by some users and not others... maybe because it has something to do with the underlying service? I have a Cingular Treo 650.
