4.0 out of 5 stars NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MAC G3 - SO BE CAREFUL
My daughter played this game at a local computer store, and really liked it, so she got it for her birthday. It was very disappointing to discover that she cannot play it, because we have a G3 iMac, and you need to have a G4. This is mentioned in small print on the packaging, but it would be nice if it were mentioned on the Amazon site as well, so people would know...

This is mentioned in small print on the packaging, but it would be nice if it were mentioned on the Amazon site as well, so people would know before they order whether it will run on their computer or not. My daughter doesn't want to return the game, she really likes it, so we'll just have to wait until we upgrade our computer at some point.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, November 30, 2005

Kinda hard at first, especially if you aren't used to the inverse up/down flight sim controls, but after that barrier, it's just great pure fun. the story isn't great, (Humans bring back dinosaurs and give them intellegence, plauge kills off humans, ultra-intelligent dinos are left to rule earth) but the graphics and gameplay are A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Great job Pangea!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great gameplay hindered by short length, January 30, 2010

Pangea Software is a very prolific video game company in my opinion. Their games each contain similar easy-to-pick up gameplay styles, yet they are different enough from each other that they almost never feel repetitive or tired. Nanosaur 2 is no exception. The gameplay is fun and easy to learn, while the main protagonist, the "hatchling", is very cool and interesting as a character.

The storyline shows promise: after humans have learned how to bring dinosaurs back to life through genetic engineering, the newly-bred dinosaur species, the Nanosaurs, decide to expand their society. Unfortunately, they are no better at keeping their government stable then their creators, and civil war breaks out. In addition, genetic inbreeding was beginning to pose a threat to their society, and as a result the government sent one of their top agents back in time to collect the stolen eggs. Unfortunately, shortly after all hell breaks loose, so to speak, the rebels seek the eggs as a weak point among the other Nanosaurs, and steal them, fleeing to offworld bases where they intend to breed the dinosaurs for their own evil bidding. One of the eggs was left behind, the Hatchling, and is sent to three major rebel planets to retrieve the stolen eggs.

Unfortunately, although the game is fun, it is rather short. It only lasts three levels. Pangea has tried their best to make these levels huge and difficult, but three levels just doesn't cut it for the 20 dollars you are forced to spend. On the other hand, the graphics are phenomenal, and the musical score, composed by Alexander D. of Otto Matic, I believe, is great epic fun. It's quite impressive Pangea only uses a synthesizer for their musical score.

Overall, Nano is a good game, but the high price for only three levels may not be worth unless you are a major Pangea fan. No matter how much I loved their past games, I really didn't find much reason to play this game again.
