After using the Schwinn patches for years, I just assumed that tube patches were clumsy, came off easily, and worked about 30% of the time. These patches are a dream come true. They are relatively easy to use (a bit difficult to peel from the patch protector), very easy to apply to the tire, and stick tenaciously to the tube. I don't have to worry about leaks. In fact, I ordered the 100 lot on the assumption that it would work like the patches I was used to, but I actually have to use far fewer of the patches than I anticipated, due to their effectiveness.

These patches work relatively well if you need to make an emergency patch job.

However they are not a good long term solution. They do not hold air well over time and will start to leak. The patches will bubble up and detach themselves from the tube. Also they a very thin all over. This causes the patch to "pimple" where the hole is and rub against the tire under pressure and eventually pop. Recommend you don't use more than 90lbs. Also the 25mm patches are rather large for 700x23c tubes. The large size causes the tube to "muscle up" which creates bumps in the tire and an uncomfortable ride. Higher priced patches are thicker in the middle which prevents pimpling and smaller which prevents muscling up.

Recommendation if you use these patches. Once the glue is on and ready for the patch, air up the tube to a good size then stick the patch on. Let dry for an hour before putting back in the tire. This prevents muscling and the patch will shrink when the tube is deflated for mounting and stretch when inflated not the opposite which causes it to come loose.

These are as good as the expensive bike shop type, but you get 20 times as many for the money. Much better than the cheap Chinese ones from eBay.
