2.0 out of 5 stars Nice Four Channel Amp
Nice amp. Easy connections. Easy adjustments. A good size for tucking under the seat.
You only get the amp, booklet, rubber inserts & some screws. No wires, no connectors, so don't expect them.
The amp works fantastic after a week. Installation is as easy as you make it. It is long, but isn't thick or wide. Even when the power on wire came loose, it still came...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice Four Channel Amp, March 9, 2010

Nice amp. Easy connections. Easy adjustments. A good size for tucking under the seat.

The amp works fantastic after a week. Installation is as easy as you make it. It is long, but isn't thick or wide. Even when the power on wire came loose, it still came on nice & strong. You can pay more for other amps if you want. Keep in mind that this isn't bridgeable. They even say so in the booklet (downloadable from site). It runs cooler than other that I have used.
Adjust your stereo as you want, than change your mind. These turn easily, so you can do it as you sit in the front seat. One thing I don't like, is that there isn't a cover for the connections. I'll have to fabricate something.
The three leads are soldered so you can just heat them to connect, nice job.
Is the whine because the amp? I don't know. I already have one RCA suppressor on each patch cable & now need one to this, sigh, the fun of amps.
Anyhow great unit & a great price. Nice weight to it as well.

Update: Had some whine, did a return on the amp, but "no problems found." Pyramid suggested I send it in to them. After about a month of turn around via shipping, it came back sounding great, till the other day, when it just died. I tried resetting it, checked fuses & the like. Nothing, dead. It isn't worth another 30 dollars in shipping fees (to them & back), to see what happened. I noticed some condensation on the "glass", but nothing out of the normal for a vehicle in the cold.
I wrote Pyramid a note, but they haven't answered. I am surprised that it died like that. I know the first return was more of a waste, but the amp did sound even better after it came back. So I'm taking it that its just a suck unit, & will stay away from the various other brands they make there & look for something else.
So less than a year on it is not good. Hopefully you don't pay more than 40 bucks for it.

I cannot find the proper words to describe this item. Bad, really bad. It does not work good. Even though I had to connect a noise suppressor I could hear many noises thru the stereo.

Received this amp in the mail and after seeing its cheap, flimsy construction, sent it right back to Amazon the same day. It probably weighs in at just under two pounds, and the cover is thin, clear plastic that rattled when I tapped it with my finger. You can't bridge it or do anything fancy with it. I think it's an amp designed for and by morons who would rather see pretty lights than actually have something that works and sounds good. Yuck.

1.0 out of 5 stars Run away from this amp, August 20, 2011
This review is from: PB442X Pyramid Super Blue- 300 Watt 4 Channel Car Audio Amplifier (Electronics)
This is a piece of SSHH**TT amp that I was fooled into buying for the cheap price and you get what you pay for.
It had a whine that is because of the design leaking engine whine thru the line level connectors into your system, EVEN IF UNIT IS NOT POWERED. I diconnected power and rewired my system to rid of this whine and found out all I had to do was disconnect the line level which was still connected to my sytem.

It is barely stronger than the radio itself and is truly worthless, even thou it did have decent clarity when car was not running, so whine would not be present.
So run away from this amp!

1.0 out of 5 stars I should have known better, June 2, 2011

It comes down to getting what you pay for and it turns out a cheap amp is a piece of junk. I was a bit leary that there were no up close pictures of the connections and not a complete set of specs for this amp.

My first problem is that there are no connectors for power and ground. The power, ground, and remote wires are about 14 gage wire (not 4, not 8 like they should be) and are soldered to the internals.

Secondly I find it hard to believe this is making 300 watts since it has only a 10 amp fuse, my math may be wrong but I think if it put out around 120 it would pop the fuse (12 volts X 10 amps)

Thirdly when I connected this amp the electrical noise it was sending was pretty bad, not just a humming sound but a crazy annoying sound that goes in and out.

I guess buy this amp if you don't mind lack of power, and bad sound quality. As for me I switched my 6X9's back to my deck which sounded way better than through this amp.

I hope you will not cheap out like me and get a quality product
