Product Description

Many photographers has asked to make a background support system with heavy duty 10' stands and a 12' telescopic cross bar. We came up with this new background support system that has a maximum height of 10' and comes with a newly patented 12' telescopic crossbar. Made of black non-glare metal tube construction for extra heavy duty use. Holds canvas, muslin or paper. Non-slip rubber tips on legs to prevent movement. Solid locking/unlocking system to raise center poles. Solid oversized leg bracing. No rivets, we use only bolts to hold legs together. This system is heavy duty and will give you years of use. The stands on this system are all heavy duty and lock in place with metal die-cast locking collars (not plastic) to ensure greatest control, that will give you years of use. The crossbar on this system is the latest in crossbar technology, no extra external peices required to lock this on the stands, just snap the two peice telescopic cross bar together and extend it out from 6' to 12'. The endcap knobs on this crossbar lock the crossbar to the support stands. This is newly patented system. No more wing nuts to lose. This background support system will give you years of service. This is our best selling backdrop support sytem: 2... Background stands the extend to 10' 1... Crossbar that extends from 6' to 12'. Carry bags included. Made from aluminum alloy, black satin finish.

Very sturdy construction.

Make sure you hold on because the other stand will want to tip over when you do this but it is easy to adjust the width.

Summary: All in all you get a pretty good backdrop stand for this.

Yes, no instructions. ... my box of cereal did not haave instructions either... yes, it is about as easy as pouring cereal.

You will have to escuse the length of this review. Im always nervous about buying bargain gear when so little has been written about them, so when i review i try to be as clear as possible.

For the price this is one heck of a deal.

Easy to setup, it extends to a full width and height of 9 feet.

SETUP:

The crossbar is comprised of 4 segments which interlock. If you want to have this narrower than 9 feet you can just keave out a crossbar and bring it down to about 6.5 - 7 feet, or leave out 2 crossbars an dit will be a little under 4 feet wide

Each stand is spring cushioned and is easy to foldup and expand out.

The entire thing can be extended to 9 feet by a single person, first put up the stangs,. then put on the crossbar and secure it with the wingnut and washer, then raise up the top column on either side, then raise up the middle column on either side.

Build Quality:

I believe you are getting more than you pay for with this. It is not quite a high end professional studio backdrop stand, but for the price i dont think you can beat this. The stands are pretty stable. If working with this outside you might want some sandbags or some stakes if you are on soft ground.

The castings arent totally polished up, meaning you see some casting leaves sticking out, but this doesent affect the performance. You will want to make sure you pick up a little socket so you can tighten the grippers as overtime im sure they will lax a bit. I am sorry but i dont know the size, but i know the tightener that came with my manfrotto 190Pro tripod is a perfect fit.

When I first set it up I was a little worried about it holding up a heavy roll of paper without crumbling. It is lightweight and so at first glance it seems flimsy. It has turned out to be a great piece of equipment, though. It has no problem holding my 36 foot roll of paper 9 feet in the air. It is also very easy to assemble, disassemble and haul around. Overall, great product.

I purchased this support system to use occasionally for small sets/backgrounds on our church platform. I have very little storage space, so needed something that would break down to a very compact size.

This unit arrived impressively packaged in a compact and well organized case. It concerned me at first that it had no real directions, but it ended up there actually wasn't a need. It is very easy to set up. I really like the telescoping pipe that rises from the tripod. It is easy to lift with the weight of a backdrop already there. The clamps that lock the vertical bars seem to be well designed with a tight hold. I'm not worried about my background slowly lowering. The crossbar unit is also well designed. Instead of 4 pieces of pipe that simply slide together, they lock in place giving strength and solidity to the entire unit.

For the price, I am amazed at the quality. I was expecting to receive a lower quality unit that would need some extra help to function as I needed it to. I have had it up for 6 weeks now and it hasn't budged.

I would highly recommend this product.

I ordered this stand on September 8th and received it by the 15th.

The stand itself is excellent. I panicked a little at first because yes, no instructions.. but even without them I had the stand assembled in about 15 minutes and that includes the time it took to get the tape off the box without a pair of scissors.

It is a good weight, but I agree that if on soft or uneven ground some extra weight would possibly be necessary.

Two very nice clamps come with the setup. I would probably get a couple extra when ordering the stand.

The carrying bag is also very nice... a place for everything.

I'm very happy with my purchase and thanks to all who reviewed the item... it was a big help when deciding on a stand.

What everyone else is saying about how useful the product is, all true. However, mine came with 1 important component that did not snap-on right. The top horizontal bars, they connect to one another through a pop-up pin that made a "snapping" sound to tell you that the two bars are properly secured. One of the bars somehow mis-aligned with the drill hole on the other bar and no matter what I've tried, they will not make a "snappy" secure connection. The product is still useful however, but I am concern that it might falls apart if I hung a heavy background piece on it. I'll probably end up fasten a makeshift connector of some sort to hold it in place somehow. Wish they had done a better quality control. Exchanging it is such a hazzle.

This product arrived in a flimsy over-sized box. The box was more than twice the volume that it needed to be, with no reinforcing inside. There was no damage at all on the box. One tripod leg was dented so badly one of it's legs was not straight. A plastic tightening knob was broken in two on the same tripod. I will now order a backdrop support from another manufacturer.
