PC Analysis Card - Diagnostic Motherboard POST Tester

I work with a small computer shop and bought this for them to use to troubleshoot motherboard RAM and CPU issues. We played around with it on a few computers we suspected such issues with and the device did not make any impact on our ability to isolate the problem. The codes it provided did not identify the problem directly. They just reported the status of the motherboard's various low level actions. From this it may be possible to derive useful clues. But we did not find it practical.

It's well enough made and does what it's supposed to. But how useful that will be to the technician is going to be up to your specific needs. Despite it being useless in my work, I give it 4 stars because it works as described, but it was a bit frustrating to have to find the manual online and download it to be able to decipher the device codes. If the company doesn't want to ship a manual, they could at least include a link to where it can be found online.

Works right out of the box. I had to contact the company for an issue, and not every one can have a giant company with a customer service staff to answer calls every minute. So with that said, they responded to me by email within a day or two with alot of helpful information. This is a decent product.

My 1 year old ASUS motherboard died. Initially, it appeared to be bad memory. When the new memory arrived, the motherboard still would not POST. I RMA'd the motherboard. It came back, and still would not POST. So, I ordered the Elston Systems PC Post Card Tester. I placed it into the PCI slot, and it reported 0000. According to the POST codes, the motherboard was ready to boot from the hard drive. Problem was, I did not have any memory plugged into the motherboard, so this motherboard was still bad. So, I sent this information to ASUS. They immediately sent me another motherboard, since I had definitive proof that the motherboard that they returned to me was still bad. This time, I plugged the Elston card in. When I turned everything on, I saw the POST codes display on the Elston card. So, I knew that this motherboard would work properly.

If you are going to build systems, this card is invaluable. It will save you much time in troubleshooting problems when the system won't POST.

This Power On Self Test card worked great. It helped me troubleshoot the RAM that I had in my MOBO. It definitely lets you know what is wrong with your computer. If you can't find the code in the downloaded manual, support from the vendor is excellent, I emailed them and and they responded back quickly.

Even though the pictures on here, and on cyberguys website show it with the Bios Lookup MANUL IT DOES NOT COME WITH IT!
I contacted Cyberguys and got the line, we bulk ship them, w/o manuals, ooh it was a mistake blah blah.. well if that's so, why does your website show it with it... They provide a link to the pdf of the booklet that you can print out on your own dime (a few dollars actually). I would NOT BUY FROM CYBERGUYS AGAIN.. they sent me a catalog but couldn't send the booklet, what does that say about a company... The product was on backorder 2 days after I ordered it, shipped 3weeks later, was told 1week....

This is a must have for any computer do it yourself, easy to use and read, just check your code sheet, and make your repairs.
