Awesome, in-depth storyline, great new add in of heros,
This review is from: PC Guild War Nightfall (CD-ROM)
Guild Wars Nightfall is set in Elona, where the storyline follows the Sunspears and their quest to overthrow ultimately, a mad god. However, like Guild Wars, you do not have to follow the storyline if you just want to get into some PvP action, or go out and kill things.
One great plus is the addition of heros--fully customizable characters that are unlocked as the story progresses (or in PvP you can buy the unlock), which are extremely helpful when soloing. Henchmen are nothing compared to heros! They level with you (leveling slower if they are not in combat), and there are heros of all classes. This way, you can either solo yourself with three heros and 4 henchmen, or you can play with a friend, 2 players and 6 heros. Again, I loved the graphics, the scenery is always stunning. The new characters introduced are the dervish and the paragon--I actually found the paragon not very useful, since it's damage is low and it is used mostly to fortify the team. However, in the latter part of the game, the paragon can be very useful, if used properly. The dervish is one of my favorite characters, because it is a melee character like the warrior, but makes no use of adrenaline, instead, casts enchantments on itself to boost attributes, and when the enchantment ends, the dervish gains energy. All in all, very satisfactory!!

Nightfall is worth buying for two reasons:
1. You get heros; which you take to the other Chapters of Guild Wars (Propecies, Factions) to help you on solo questing. The heros are smarter than the henchmen and you can equip them with gear, upgrade their armor, etc. 2. You get a full campaign of PvE content, and it's a good storyline.

These are easily the best MMORpG games available. Sit down WoW cause you don't even come close. The graphics are superior, the storyline is fantastic and from an economic view it's the best. I don't get stung twice by an already rich video game company. Why? Because there is no server subscription fee's, that's right I dont pay to play after I've already bought the game. No monthly game play cards here.

I am a member of an active guild group. We have contests, and group wide events. there are some serious focused events, and some fun events. I get and give a lot of help in the game. So if y6ou like MMOGs this is a good on to own. NO MONTHLY FEES to play! that gives this an A++ in my book.

There are many things you can do in this game. I have been playing for a long time and it doesn't get old. It is worth every penny.

Don't buy any guild wars game used because you will not be able to play it at all, but the games themselves are fun and online play is free also mandatory. I hope this helps people who were thinking about buying a Guild Wars games used.

Best things from this game were the Dervish class and heroes...Otherwise it was pretty boring.

Although I've only played the Nightfall campaign a short time, I have to give it high marks for adding just a bit more "oomph!" to the usual Guild Wars gameplay. Things like Sunspear points and bounties make the early game much more enjoyable (finally, something more than bits of XP and minor treasures for killing low-level monsters!) as do the addition of the two new classes (Paragon and Dervish). And let's not forget Heroes--these guys add an additional level up/customizing element that was sorely lacking with henchmen, meaning those tough quests/missions now get a bit easier.
Too, Nightfall feels a bit more immersive to me than the original campaign (which I'm working at completing); it's not something I can put into words, really, it's something that has to be experienced. The ability to bring characters over from the Guild Wars campaign (and then bring them back as you wish, with their Heroes in tow) expands gameplay when things get a bit stale. Overall I highly recommend this terrific addition to the Guild Wars family. There are, though, some small cons: gameplay remains largely the same as the original Guild Wars and can be a bit repetitive as a result; and it's a bit easier, I've found, to get turned out and somewhat lost in some areas, plus monsters tend to be a bit tougher than the original campaign earlier on. Some early quests are also frustrating, requiring you to find dropped items that may require multiple map reloads to obtain. But all are very small complaints for an otherwise terrific campaign.
