Best Monitoring Software Bang for Buck,
By shadyshall (NYC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: PC Pandora [Version 5.2] (CD-ROM)
I have PC Pandora installed on my computer and it sees ALL! This program works like a beaut!! It was very easy to install and starts running immediately. There are lots of great (standard) features and controls that you need, yeah, but the best part is the screen captures. Rather than wading through lines of text info and website URLs that you have to decipher - this takes snapshots of your PC screen! It's literally like a VCR. You can see everything your child (or anyone else) does on the PC. I had a small hiccup after installing, but the customer service chat on the website was incredibly fast and had me fixed in no time. This cost me less than $50 (I actually got it on sale on their website) and that's it. No annual fee or subscription. $50 to last me the next 6 years while my kids grow up and become more active online. Parents, if you have teens on the net - YOU NEED THIS PROGRAM!

The right product for a concerned mom,

In the course of an afternoon, I purchased this product, obtained by email a receipt and, separately, a product activation code, downloaded it, and (in about 2 minutes) set it up to send me email reports (containing keystrokes, screenshots, and more). I was looking for an easy-to-use, straightforward program that would provide keylogging and screenshots so I can keep a "concerned mom's" eye on my 13-year-old's on-line activities (especially Warcraft!). This is exactly the right product and has provided what I need and more, with the easiest download, installation, and set-up I have ever experienced. An unexpected bonus: the promptness, responsiveness, and friendliness of the Pandora reps, with whom I emailed re: the shipping refund, was absolutely refreshing!

This is absolutely great software. Works exactly as advertised. Specific features to point out.* Runs in total stealth mode. There's nothing visible unless you specifically want it to be. * Can email you the reports to any email address of your choosing. * Monitors all activity. Keystrokes, snapshots, and website logging are the key monitoring features in my opinion. * Provides some amount of parental/blocking control to block programs and websites of your choice. * Professional in appearance. Doesn't look like a college kids project, looks like it's made by genuine business professionals. I can't say that about some of the competition. * The company provides the most outstanding support I've encountered. LiveChat with mere seconds of wait time, and even... gasp!... email support is responded to quickly, usually within hours. I can't tell you how many companies, even large ones, don't respond to emails at all much less within hours. Note that they also sell a combo pack product which includes the PC Pandora program as well as their Recovery product which is also extremely high quality and effective. Good if you need to do some deleted data recovery.

Was looking for cheap and easy way to monitor someone visibly taking steps to hide PC activity for unknown reasons. PC Pandora came through with easy installation, low cost and ease of use.I cant really speak to the fancy features, but the basic features are extremely easy to use, and all you need to monitor another user of the same PC be it kid or whatever. One minor beef...for some reason I find it a bit confusing to match the time stamp on screen captures to the keystroke record. It would sure be nice if there was some sort of link you could click to go from say a screen cap taken at x time to the keystroke log from that time, or vice versa. You cant always figure out what is going on without checking both for context.

This thing works as advertised. As a matter of fact - it is a little scary just how well this thing can snoop another PC.

Could Not get it to work with Vista,
By Honest Software Guy "Honest Software Guy" (Melbourne, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: PC Pandora [Version 5.2] (CD-ROM)
It seemed like a good price, but I could not get it to work with Vista. So, I tried it on XP, and while it worked, I found it was detected by Norton Antivirus and Webroot's SpySweeper. I had to disable those products to get it to work, and found it offered the basics, but it was difficult to use and offered far fewer features than Spector Pro, which admittedly is a bit expensive, but an extremely good product. Plus, it is really not practical to live without anti-virus software. If you don't use anti-virus or anti-spyware products, and you use XP and don't plan on upgrading to Vista, then this is a good basic product.

There are better products out there, but it does what it says it will. The manufacturer seems to work out of a garage and by the seat of their pants. The product will arrive on a jump drive, not a CD/DVD. Shop around and if this is what you want, then get it. If you see better, then avoid it.

Warning IT DOES NOT WORK WITH VISTA........do not waste your money!,

I bought this software about a year ago, and it worked fine with Windows XP, if you have Norton Internet all you have to do is follow the steps before installing it and it works. But NOT with Vista, while Norton does not detect it, Vista security does and a message pops up: "Warning an unknown software wants to get access to your computer" allow or reject? what is the person using the computer will do?.....it is not so hard to figure it out, this message keeps coming up over and over, so Pandora can't go undetected with Vista. Don't waste your money, and their Customer Support Department, DO NOT WANT to acknoledge this problem, so I am stuck with a program that can't do what I bought it for.
