This book does not contain any information that is not easily available on the Web for free. Go to the AMCC or PLX web sites and read their documentation. They go into much more detail. This book is way to general to be of any real use. The diagrams are not explained in any more detail than is available in the PCI spec or the PCI Handbook. Finally, a few software examples would be very instructive. The included CD-ROM does not include examples, only the book in electronic form.

I am a hardware engineer that only recently got involved in designing a hardware board for the Pci bus. All books and articles on the subject all assume some inherent knowledge on the subject. This is the only book/article that I found that introduced the subject slowly and clearly bringing me up to speed in a very enjoyable manner. Well Done!

I regreted that I purchased this book. I wish I can return the book and get my money back. It is only a "simplified" and "re-organized" version of the real spec. It is worthless.

PCI Bus Demystifed was a good read. All necessary topics were presented in a clear manner. I will give you an good understanding of PCI Bus.

I found this book to be a useful quick reference book, the writing is clear and its up to date. I like having the ebook on the CD-ROM for searching different topics.

Do NOT order from Ike Behar online. They will never answer the phone, only a recording. They completely messed up my order and unable to get anyone to do anything about it.
