5.0 out of 5 stars It rules, just because of the movie.
I watch this movie, I could live this movie. Who can't see the mob of college students running to the mad carnival sounds of Mud Honey's "Pump it up" or see the average college dance crowd bouncing to a very fun(ky) Stomp by the funk-master himself. 3.0 out of 5 stars George Clinton to the rescue
The two George Clinton songs "Stomp" and "Erotic City" really save this CD. The first three tracks are good, including "Stomp" "Pump it Up" and "Rilly Groovy" The 6th one "Erotic City" is where the good ends, after that its not very good music.

If you have ever been in college or are in it now, this CD represents everything from the parties, to the mellowness to the madness of it all. The only thing that tops this CD is the movie itself. All you Kevin Smith fans, sit down for some brainless, but sweet fun with PCU!

4.0 out of 5 stars Get up on the downstroke, November 23, 2001

The movie is great. The soundtrack is worth having for the George Clinton tracks. Erotic City, (Written by Prince) is fairly hard to come by, features George Clinton & Bellita Woods. Stomp is equally as good. The rest of the disc is decent, but not the best. Any Clinton fan should pick this up. *note* the Movie band is not P-Funk. The tracks were recorded at Paisley Park.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pick It Up, May 13, 2004

This soundtrack is great, although it's hard to come by. It's worth owning just for Erotic City - that's an awesome track. If you can get your hands on it, I highly recommend it. Too bad it never got radio airplay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the movie, and the CD is even better., May 22, 1999

The Steve Vai songs on this CD are some of his better work...after all, he IS the GREATEST guitar player alive today, and possibly EVER. He is to the electric guitar what Nicolo Paginini was to the violin and Franz Lizst was to the piano.

4.0 out of 5 stars Modern Party Soundtrack for a Modern College Party Movie, July 10, 1998

An outstanding collection of some obscure but trend-setting artists, the PCU soundtrack proves to be an excellent disc to slip into your party play-list, especially if you're sick of "dance remixes." Funk, both traditional and new, are featured with two outstandingly clean tracks from Clinton and the P-funk. Modern guitar rock and funk appear in "Slackjawed" and "What's Wrong with Me." Possibily the best track is the Beautiful People tribute to Jimi Hendrix, a cruising song that samples his voice... Ultra Cool.

3.0 out of 5 stars And the title is...., February 16, 2002
This review is from: PCU: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
FYI-The song that Jeremy puts on when he locks the cabinet at the faculty party is "Afternoon Delight" by the Starlight Vocal Band. It was pure corny 1970's (1977, I believe), but people actually bought the record - and quoted the lyrics. It was either that or the Saturday Night Live soundtrack. Nobody wanted to admit it publicly, but many had the album tucked away some- where.

Does any one know what song Jeremy Piven puts on when he locks everyone in the room at the formal thingy? This soundtrack rocks, by the way. George Clinton has a third song in the movie too, which is very good.
