Acrobat for people who can't find the online documentation.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The PDF Bible: The Complete Guide to Adobe Acrobat 3.0 (Paperback)
The windows/mac duplications is a waste of space. A number of errors of fact. Useless discussion of graphics compression formats. If there was something useful here that isn't in Acrobat's online documentation, I missed it. I'm still looking for a useful advanced book on Acrobat.

A great book if it was 160 pages shorter,
By A Customer
This review is from: The PDF Bible: The Complete Guide to Adobe Acrobat 3.0 (Paperback)
dissappointed to find that 160 pages of the 420 are essentially duplicates. The only difference being windows or Mac screen dumps. The index is very short and does not detail many of the topics covered. Such a good idea for a book with a captivating name but not quite as much a `Bible' as I would have hoped for.

I strongly diagree with the Toronto reviewer regarding the compression discussion in this book. If you are deliverying PDF via the web you need your PDF files as small as possible without sacrificing graphics quality.I still use this book for reference although I have upgraded to Acrobat 4.05. Outstanding explanations of all settings for Distiller and important information on print drivers and PostScript printer definitions (PPDs). I hope the author updates his book for the latest Acrobat 4.05 version.
