I got this as a gift for my God Son who will be 5. It says 6 and up but he is advanced for his age. You don't get to pick the color that comes I so hoped it would be green as he loves green, unfortunately it is pink. OH WELL. He loves the frogger game.

The item is sturdy for the price and the games look fun for a small child. I cannot speak for how long it will last. He tends to be gentle with things so I think I'm safe there. What else could you get under $XX can't say but it was good. that a kid would like more.

Also the games are clean safe for a chold his age.

This has a lot of fun games. They are simple to learn, but challenging enough to entertain. Three caveats. First, the screen is small so you will need good eyes, or need to wear your glasses. Second, it requires three aaa ALKALINE batteries. You can use rechargeable batteries, but you will get lines on the display because of the lower voltage. Third, the instructions for the games don't provide much information. It does not, however, take long to figure out the basics. There is a good selection of games, from a pool game, which doesn't rush you, to shooters, where the bad guys will get you if you are too slow. I plan to get a couple more for Christmas presents.

I bought the VG Pocket Caplet on clearance last year for one child, and it was so worthwhile I got the Tablet this year for the other one. Original price on these was high, but they apparently didn't do well, so you can get them often for under $10. With a large variety of games built in, they have favorites and so do I. Of course not nearly as involved as current PSP and Gameboy Advance or DS games, but superior to all but the greatest of the previous generation handheld games. Plus, if you can find it, you can also buy an adapter to hook this to a tv.

I got this game player originally as a stocking stuffer but ended up giving it as a birthday present instead because I bought 2 more. The price was right on this item and the 25 game options was the BEST selling feature.

The games are easy to figure out for a 6 year old but not so much for a 36 year old apparently...*LOL!*

My daughter was thrilled and she's been playing it non-stop. The player is perfect for small hands and the buttons are easy to navigate. The screen is quite impressive for the size and with some added rechargeable batteries, it is the perfect gift for a child!!!

As a mother, I am quite impressed with myself for picking out a gift a that my daughter enjoys!!! She shares with her older sister and sometimes they will play two player games together. Which is ideal for the times we are out running errands.

I think the Frogger game is the best and it looks exactly like the game did all those years ago. It is fun watching your child enjoy the same games you did when you were her age... So, I highly recommend this item!

I bought two other game players and I now know they will be a big hit on Christmas! They are the perfect stocking stuffers!!!

The games in this system are very easy to play, the best game being Frogger. Frogger sure brings back memories. My second favorite is Pool.

I purchased this game for my nephew for his birthday. Both my brother and mother have asked me to purchase another game for my niece because the two of them will not stop fighting over the game.

My 5 year-old twin grandchildren received these for Christmas, and my 3 year-old saw it and loved it. So, Grandma made sure he got one too...even though it probably isn't age appropriate for him, he still can play some of the games, and his Dad loves it too!

Frogger is the only real game on here that I recognize, the rest are probably ports from other games. The games are not very sophisticated, similar to Atari 2600 games. The screen is bright and the color contrast is good. The case design is surprisingly ergonomic, its easy to hold without getting cramps.

My 4 and 6 year old sons love this toy. Most of the games are fun and simple enough for them to play. Nothing compared to the bigger handheld games, like Sony PSP, of course, but it's a great toy for them to play in the car, waiting rooms, etc. I only wish it was rechargeable, we're going through AAA batteries kind of quick.

I bought 3 of these game consoles and each one of my neices and newphews loved it. Comes with 25 preloaded games and the screen is fantastic for something this inexpensive.
