The ÜberShield is a plug-in shield for your Arduino, Netduino, or Fez product. It features 64 digital I/Os on standard .1 inch headers, connected to a powerful Xilinx field-programmable gate array, and controlled using code running on the Arduino, Netduino or Fez platform. The ÜberShield ships with a pulse-width modulation (PWM) and general-purpose input/output (GPIO) FPGA core preinstalled. Users can write their own logic cores using the free Xilinx ISE WebPACK tool. Cores can be loaded via the USB connection on the Netduino/Arduino/Fez platform, without the use of special programming cables. The shield interfaces with the host platform via the standard Arduino headers, allowing it to be controlled using the SPI, I2C or UART busses, or a via a user-defined control scheme. Included on the ÜberShield are four 20-pin headers each with 16 I/O, power and ground; a 25MHz oscillator; push button and bi-color LED.
