Perhaps if they go on sale I'll buy another pair!

I have 2 pairs of "attack" shorts and they are my favorite cycling shorts for the price point. The "racing" padding gives great, comfortable padding without chafing. This "racing" padding is different than Pearl Izumi's other styles of shorts with the same category of padding and it is much better in my opinion. I would have given this item 5 stars except that when I reordered this item the second pair was a different style (same "racing" padding!) with longer length, different waistband, different fabric. I really like both pairs, but I do think if you order the same item, you should get the same product.

I love these shorts and I LOVE the deal I got on Amazon. I bought these for about $30 on Amazon, after trying them on in my local bike shop where they were priced at $80 (also priced $80 at a couple name brand online sports stores). I read the reviews thoroughly to make sure I wasn't going to get a too-good-to-be-true China knockoff, but they were exactly the same pair I tried on.

They fit great and feel great on. I wore these for the entire week of RAGBRAI 2013 (460+ miles in a week) and they made an AMAZING difference in my ride this year versus last year. Last year I wore a pair of Canari women's bike shorts, also purchased off of Amazon, (paid more, but in comparison this pair of Pearl Izumi shorts are far better quality, including the seaming and the chamois), and by the end of the week I was riding in tears much of the time and had to cut the last day short. Thanks to a couple very slight adjustments to the height of my bike seat and this new pair of bike shorts, the ride was completely different this year in terms of seat comfort.

I tried on several different brands and fits at my local family-owned bike shop earlier this year determined to get the best pair of shorts possible. Before I started trying on shorts, the older woman working that day helped me pick out several pair that she thought were the best, including their best sellers, and from the beginning she recommended the Pearl Izumi Attack shorts as what she thought were THE best. After trying many pairs on, I did decide on the Pearl Izumi Attack pair, even over some other name-brand and more expensive styles. The seams and chamois are very good quality, best even of the pairs I tried on. Definitely better than my last year Canari pair.

You get what you pay for. At REI these are $80 bucks and never go on sale. They are good shorts. I crashed off my bike at 25 mph and my jersey was torn to shreds but these shorts had barely a scuff! I recommend machine washing but line drying. I pop these in the dryer once a month as they tend to stretch out a bit. Bike shorts should fit as tight as possible so the chamois stays in place. Get more than a couple pairs because they wear out faster if you constantly wash them. Take care of these and they will take care of you!

I checked the size charts and ordered the suggested small after measuring myself. When the shorts arrived I thought they looked way too small. They were a perfect fit and really feel good on a ride. I'm so glad I bought these awesome shorts! I liked them so much that I ordered a 2nd one.

I ordered these because I wanted a shorter pair of cycling shorts. I already own a pair of PI Attack shorts and was expecting the same short again. These are not the same at all!

This pair of shorts is a good 2-3 INCHES longer than all my other cycling shorts. They come almost to my knees! I'm 5'7" tall and weigh 126 pounds. These should not come to my knees. These shorts were also a bit roomier than the other pair I own. Not all what I was expecting to receive. I am sending them back.

I love the Pearl Izumi brand for cycle shorts. They seem to be more generously sized than other cycle shorts. I order the large which fit properly without being too tight. I am 5'5" (almost) and 143-145 lbs with 'generous' hips. This particular short seems to run a bit larger than the Quest and Sugar shorts by PI. I might have been able to pull off a Medium but I'm ok with the Large.

very true to size. Got the impression from a review that they run large so I ordered a size smaller. That was a mistake. It was very true to size.

I am 5'1", 112 pounds. The small fits perfectly. I bought a few extra pairs I like them so much. I wear them as shorts, not as a liner. I don't know about everyone else, but I wash them in the washer, but I always air dry them.
