I was looking for a ruler that didn't have that extra space in the beginning before starting the measurement. This one starts right at the tip so it makes it perfect for checking action on stringed instruments.

This is a ruler as it should be. The first measurements start right from the edge , there's no lil space then a zero . To me as simple as that sounds was one of the main features I had difficulty finding. I needed a ruler like this so I could get into the realm of guitar setup , any time a precise measuring is needed I believe it'll do the job. It's made just about as sturdy as a small ruler can be, and comes in a sleeve protector to store it in when not in use. That sleeve doesn't seem like much but it will definitely keep the chance of rust at bay as it will hold any moisture away and lube in. Not much else to say about a 6"ruler , it measure in multiple degrees some so small I can't count the lines( I'm getting older and eyes aren't what they use to be)
After using a few times I now know the degrees of measure are: 32nds ,64ths, mm,and .5 mm .

Rules like this are designed to measure accurately from the end of the bar, with no "dead space". However, the one I received has a first interval on the metric scale that is a little too small, so it has a negative "dead space". Measurements from this end of the rule are then too low by about 0.2 mm. This is not a huge error, but it's disappointing. Otherwise the quality seems OK.

I have nothing to compare this ruler to, but it seems to be of decent quality. The markings are easy to read. I used it to set the action on my guitars, and it worked. I don't know exactly how much a professional setup costs, but there's really no need to pay someone else to do it. Just get yourself one of these and some feeler gauges, and you're good to go. If I can do it, then you can do it too.

A great small rule, imperial scale on one side, metric on the other. Nice, heavy feel. Sharp, clear markings. A quality tool.

Exactly what I expected. The marks are clear and accurate. The ruler is slim yet strong. This is a quality product.

As the title says this ruler is inexpensive (fairly inexpensive...I've bought cheaper, but you get what you pay for) but is very well made. Not just a strip of aluminum with numbers embossed on it, it feels like a pretty substantial piece of metal (for a 6 inch ruler). Has both inch and mm scales. Came in a blue vinyl case, but it went right into my work bag.

The ruler is excellent. But the dummies charge more for shipping than for the product; truly a rectal/cranial inversion.
