I have to admit that I don't own any other shoe dryer, but I don't need another one - I'm very happy with this one. I hike a lot in the summer time and ski all winter long. My hiking boots get sweaty and my ski boots get soaked. This shoe dryer has been used all year and will dry out the wettest shoe in under an hour!

This dryer does a good job drying my waders if I am able to leave them overnight. The heat unit emits heat which passes up the tubes into the boot. I would have rather had a unit that had some air circulation device incorporated in it like a small fan, so that drying would be faster. On rainy days, there are many items that will need drying but my dryer is "tired up" drying my waders.
