We replaced our 15 year old GE Profile Spacemaker with a new updated GEProfile Spacemaker Microwave Oven. It is basically the same one with big subtle improvements. I am probably the only one who used the old microwave with all of
its bells and whistles. I am amazed at how updated these items are today.
Forinstance to cook fresh vegetables just load them in and push the veggie button.
Somehow it senses when they are cooked to perfection and not rubber. I cooked a
perfect scrambeled egg in one minute, stirring once.

We oredered the undermount hardware just because. Guess what? Since we replaced
the identical microwave the old mount fit perfectly. Oh well.

I really would have loved it in stainless steel but didn't see it offered.

I do hope this gives us another 15 years but at that price I am not too worried
about the track record. The first GE over the stove microwave I bought 30 years
ago was $600!

This GE model gave us the most cooking power, ease of operation and reliability for its size and price. When we were remodeling our kitchen, choosing this model gave us enough extra space to have our carpenter create a storage niche for baking trays. Amazon got it to us in a couple of days when, amazingly, no local dealer had it in stock.

TWO YEARS UPDATE, 11/11/10: Heating one cup of tea too many, it made a sickening stink because it was burning internally. We had to take it outside right away because of the smell. But it's such a good machine, and it fits our space that was customized for it, we ordered another one from Amazon.

we needed to replace an older ge space saver (under cabinet model) and after researching the very confusing ge website we threw the dice and bought this one. Not disappointed at all. Fits right into older model layout holes, controls super easy and useful. and it looks nice too.

I wanted a microwave that took up as little counter space as possible, had sensor cooking and was easy to use. This one fit all that criteria and had a bonus: a "Beverage" key which I use a lot to heat water to the perfect temp for tea. This microwave is perfect for my needs and I'm very happy with it. The only downside is that the quality is only average.

When the magnetron goes (common problem for GE microwaves) they won't send a replacement even though it comes with a 10 year warranty - they will send a tech out and charge you about $175 to install the free part - which may last the 13 months that ours did.

I recently ordered the GE Profile Spacemaker countertop microwave and I am delighted with it. My old over-the-range Profile microwave finally died and I decided I no longer want such a large microwave being the focal point of my kitchen! I will probably remodel and replace the old one with a nicely designed range hood (which home buyers are looking for these days). The size of the Spacemaker micro is perfect to sit on a standard 24" deep countertop and still allow counter room in front of it. It's just the depth of my overhead cabinet, so I could install it there later. There is also a GE mounting kit which you can buy separately to hang the micro right under the upper cabinets. The interior of the micro is very adequate for a regular dinner plate or bakeware. Initially, I was concerned that I wouldn't get the same power level as my old micro (975 watts), but the Spacemaker actually has greater wattage and cooks quicker. My choice of color was white because my cabinets are white, but stainless is available. I do not like the curved design on the front of the current GE stainless microwave and oven, but with the white color the lines fade.

I looked everywhere for this microwave. I had the same one a few years ago and wanted the same one in white because I wanted to match it with my new kitchen. It is not too big nor too small. It was the perfect depth for my shelf in my kitchen. Reliable appliance!

1ST ONE LASTED 1MONH THEN THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. HAD TO HIT THE RELEASE BUTTON 3 OR 4 TIMES TO OPEN

2ND ONE THE KEY PAD IS NO GOOD
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MICRO TO ANYONE

Great product and shipped well. Slim - not as tall as most microwaves so be aware of that if you are expecting it to be the same size as the usual ones. Great for small spaces and dorms.

Like and earlier reviewer I was looking for a replacement for a 5 year old cabinet installed JEM31 but could not find information about its compatibility. I can't comment about the reliability but it's a drop in replacement. I used all the same hardware including the faceplate from the old microwave. As a bonus the unit seems a little more advanced also. This unit is installed in a 12 inch cabinet which is a rare installation and I'm grateful it's still available.
