As soap opera fans mourn the loss of yet another blockbuster daytime drama when "All My Children" goes off ABC on September 23, 2011, People magazine has put together this thick, well-researched work on one of the most popular daytime serials to grace our screens. Filled with beautiful black and white photos and extremely gorgeous colored pics this edition of People is a must-own for fans of "All My Children". It traces the history of the show from the very beginning in 1970, discusses some of the series' most dramatic storylines, and gives fans a gift to enjoy for decades to come. The weddings, divorces, the comings and goings of cast members are celebrated here. See when Erica Kane had the first legal abortion, when a popular character had a face lift before "Young and Restless" did it, the greatest TV wedding in 1980 when Nina and Cliff got married which even put Luke and Laura's to shame, and all the other wonderful moments in Pine Valley.
Although "All My Children" goes off network television there is hope for its future as Prospect Park, a huge million dollar ad agency in Hollywood, has bought its rights to air new episodes on the internet and perhaps even cable television. Let's hope Susan Lucci will be a part of it!

I have been watching All MY CHILDREN for 30 years. It sadden me that I must say goodbye to my family and friends,no I will not watch it on the net. This book reflects the love,joy and memories of AMC. This is a must have for any fan of AMC. Farewell Pine Valley,Pa.

I don't envy the editors who worked on this book-- how do you condense a four-decade show into a People-style breezy read? The result is beautiful to look at but has a lot of gaping holes for the AMC fan. Once-important characters and storylines are glossed over or entirely omitted. I would have expected at least a page on memorable villains, Emmy winners from the show and something humorous about recasts. All in all, a whole lotta Lucci but not enough on anything else.

I'm SO happy about this AMC Commemorative issue...and so sad about losing my all-time favorite soap! This is a beautifully photographed issue with MANY wonderful memories over the 41 years of this great soap. This is a treasured part of my personal library and helps take out the sting of the loss. I only wish they had included a "final day cast photo". Perfect AMC memories encapsulated in this hardback bound book!
