5.0 out of 5 stars You must understand maybe amazon dosen't make it clear.
This is defined as an Anime on this site but it's not just Anime.
It is called Hentai which is Anime that is extremely, graphically sexual. It is heavily fettish related and not for everyone. All I ask of others is to not buy it before reviewing details about it. Please do not attack it if you have by chance purchased it, explaining disapproval is fine but I have...

1.0 out of 5 stars This is LIVE ACTION, not ANIME!!!!, October 2, 2004
This review is from: PERFECT BLUE BOX (DVD)
I wish I'd kept on reading!!! The first review i saw was a review of the animated series which i had seen a bit of to get me interested, the next one said "this is not anime" and bashed it, so i assumed they just meant it was so bad it shouldn't be considered anime...i would have realized this was a power ranger-esque live action show if i read more reviews, and the lack of picture is misleading too; if they showed the cover, a real person(Miko Mido) being grabbed by slimy tentacles, it totally would have been clear this is no cartoon! I too am out $40 like every person who got this horrible cartoon-to-reality junk before reading enough reviews to make a sound judgement, zero stars, not one, i just didn't see a "no stars" entry.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit tame, but all good, December 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Jazz For The Jet Set (VHS Tape)
First and foremost, I'm a HUGE fan of the series. I've seen LaBlue Girl 1-6, and let me tell you, this is where it's at. Some say it's for wankers. Damn skippy. It's nothing more than a porno in anime. But no porno I've seen is this spectacularly engrossing, this dramatically staged, and this, uhem, effective, as LaBlue Girl. If you are looking for something for the family, don't even think of getting this. If you don't like any cartoon erotica, pass this by. But if you are looking to have some serious adult anime fun, get the box set, you will not be dissapointed. Oh, and don't even think about getting the dubbed version, it does not do it justice at all! Get the subtitled version and get ready to fly>

1.0 out of 5 stars It Ain't Anime, September 9, 2004
This review is from: PERFECT BLUE BOX (DVD)
Not anime at all, lacking entirely the erotic power and vividness of the Japanese animators. Instead it's a crude live-action thing done on a mini-budget with extremely bad actors going through the motions. The special effects are shameful by Poverty Row 1947 standards. The plot is one of those crazed demon things, with cruel strains of sexual anger throughout (typical of anime, I know, but not in any way justified by elegance of execution). Really, a mess and E-bay should be ashamed of listing such a shoddy product as "anime." It ain't anime!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I'd hoped for, but not as bad as many have described, October 22, 2005
This review is from: PERFECT BLUE BOX (DVD)
The storyline of this series follows the life a young girl, Miko Bido, and in the first volume, her sister Miyu Bido as well. They are both surpreme warriors, and at first, believe themselves to be last of the great and notable "Miroku Clan" -- a special and ancient clan that fights and wards-off evil sex demons of the Shikima Clan who have been trying for centuries to break into the realm of earth -- their tentacles of all kinds hungry for fresh women to feed upon.

The first volume -- "Revenge of the Sex Demon King -- starts off with Miko & Miyu Bido putting their warrior-tactics to the ultimate test when a sex demon, sent by the evil Shikima Clan, breaks through the earth realm barrier in search of the last remaining decedents of the Bido family, for they are the only ones who can become impregnated by those of the Shikima tribe and therefore carry on their evil line. This sex demon also has the special ability to transfer itself into the body of another -- namely whoever he has sex with. After failing to trick Miko & Miyu after possessing the bodies of both of Miko's best friends, Masaki and Shizuka, the evil sex demon leads the two sisters to a final battle of skills and sexual wits in a seemingly abandoned warehouse for the final showdown...

In volume two -- "Birth of the Demon Child" -- we witness the tragedy of Miyu Bido's prior loss to the Sex Demon King in the first volume. Despite Mido's slaying victory of the demon previously in the end, her sister Miyu, unfortunately, had already become impregnated with the demon's child. One impregnated with the child of a Shikima demon must die in birth, so of course, you can guess poor Miyu's fate. This volume, in turn, revolves around Mido trying to avenge her sister's death, while also trying to grant her sister's final, dying wish, which is to "save her child...". Thus, a battle for Miyu's daughter and Mido's niece, Miyabi, begins; one the Shikima Clan won't be willing to give up so easily, as they want Miyu's daughter all for themselves... Along the way, both the Miroku Clan and the Shikima Clan start to round-up some new companions to help them out on their opposite missions.

In the third and final volume -- "Lady Ninja" -- as guessed, the final battle between the Miroku & Shikima clans takes place. Miko, now desperate to free both her best friends Misaki & Shizuka along with her niece Miyabi, all of which are currently being demonically possessed and held captive by the Shikima clan, has now been reunited with the last remaining five members of the Miroku Clan throughout the use of an ancient board. Yaku, the fun & frenetic ninja who helped out Mido in the last volume, Seia, the childish and often clumsey ninja, Fuka, the serious & intellectual ninja, Hiro, the brave and strong-hearted ninja, and my favourite, Maki, the athletic & sporty lesbian who never turns down a hot gal. Together, will the six, last-remaining lady ninjas of the sexy Miroku Clan defeat the evil Shikima Clan in time, or will Miko's friends and niece Miyabi be lost forever in the grip of the Shikima Clan's endless demonic tentacles?

All-in-all, I'd say this series isn't straight-out horrible, but it's not anywhere near spectacular, either. While many of the special effects are decently done, many are not. Also, some of the actual het scenes are quite poorly-performed; mainly those in the second volume. The unfortunately too-few yuri scenes contained within the series are fairly nicely done, though not very graphic, and most of the tentacle special effects are done quite nicely, and many look very realistic.

This was a series I watched out of overall curiosity, being I'd never seen a "live" version of a het, yaoi, or yuri anime before. It was an interesting introduction, and though I'm sure there are better ones out there, I'm sure there have to be way worse ones, too. Rating-wise, I'd give this series about a 3.3 on the 1 to 5 scale. I also vote that the third volume's probably the best in my eyes, though the first one's a close second. I hope this review was helpful to those interested.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrid horrid series, September 11, 2004
This review is from: PERFECT BLUE BOX (DVD)
Wow, I ordered this on recommendation, and may never speak to that person again. This was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Why is it in the Anime section anyhow? It's one thing when there is a little fan service in an Anime, but this was straight up porn. And horrid, disturbing porn at that.

Please do not attack it if you have by chance purchased it, explaining disapproval is fine but I have noticed alot of malicious reviews and it really is nither appropriate or tasteful, further more it dosen't reflect on you well. On it's own it is good entertainment for the right audiences. WARNING: Parents of children under the age of 17 do not buy this for your child on anyones recommendation without proper reasearch.

3.0 out of 5 stars anime hardcore for a narrow audience, December 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Jazz For The Jet Set (VHS Tape)
Story follows a young Japanese girl who's ancestral mission is to fight demons with sex. Yes, you read me correctly. Fast paced, slightly comic, graphic violence, nudity and sex. Main character's (I forget her name)sister is kidnapped and taken to underworld where our hero must battle the legion of monsters and grotesques who threaten to overcome good with evil, guess who wins. For those still interested,it should be a unique, memorable experience. Recommended for serious anime collectors with high tolerance levels. My version was subtitled, would recommend dub if available.
