My package arrived this morning. After reading the other reviews, I was a little reluctant to even order this product, but thought I'd give it a try. "For the price", I thought, "if it works -- great. If not, I'll send it back". Those Cannon name brand cartridges that were once so reasonably priced when I purchased my PIXMA printer several years ago, have gone sky high! I dont know about you, but I dont have that kind of money to throw away, so when I saw these units at 15 for the price of ONE Cannon cartridge, it was worth the risk.Taking note of the previous reviews, I used a little common sense and handled the ink cartridges carefully by the ENDS (not the sides where you can squeeze the ink out) and carefully placed them into my printer. I closed it up, and printed out a black and white PDF file. Fantastic! Clear and nice with no spills or droplets. Then I printed out a full color web page and once again, I had exceptional results! I never even got a drop of ink on my fingers. Therefore, I can tell you with confidence that this product works just fine, if you use some common sense and handle the cartridges properly.

I received a box of these just to find out that you do not get what is advertised. I did receive 3 complete sets of printer ink in boxes that say ISO 9001 but, they were from three different manufacturers. I had to throw away 2 of the Cyans as they simply did not work, this left me with one good cyan. The Black and Magenta work fine but, to get the yellow to work properly you must leave all the labeling on the cartridge. Also, I still have on glaring issue with all of the cartridges, they leak ink. As soon as you twist off the plastic tab ink will spill out all over your hands, clothes, desk, floor, and they have the potential to ruin your printer. And I mean leak as in unless you open these over a large bowl or in a sink you WILL get ink on you.Do not buy.

This the best deal on ink I have ever seen. Having a family of 6, we are very active and busy so we take lots of pictures. This ink prints out quality photos and is very budget friendly. The shipping was also very prompt. Thanks, we'll be back!

I am pleased to have found ink that is compatible with my Pixma MP500 Canon printer. However, I have two concerns:1. The ink gives off a strong smell when printing. 2. Some of the cartridges were leaking upon opening. I hope they don't ruin my printer. I will look around for other deals, but I would purchase these again if I don't find something affordable.

I have had Canon printers for over three years, and was torn between paying outrageous prices for Canon cartridges or wresting with after market types with no chip. I was not sure what was worse, trying to get the after market ones to recognize the chip I had to manually take out of the Canon cartridges and hope that it would work, or paying way too much for the Canon cartridges.I had my doubts about these cartridges, but am very happy to say that I have so far used two of them with out absolutely any problem. I'm thrilled to have found this product and will most certainly be a return customer. This is the the first time I have ever written a product review, but I am really convinced about these cartridges. Thanks for offering an excellent product at a very affordable price!

I don't write many reviews, but for this product I felt I had to. The INCREDIBLE value of this ink is something that people on a budget can REALLY benefit from. Just look at the numbers: Generic 15 pack: $14.40. Equivalent amount of ink, official Cannon brand: $227.55. That is a 94% savings!!!That being said, this product is not going to meet Cannon's quality inspection standards. Here are some issues I had with my 15 pack, all of which I resolved easily! (1) A yellow cartridge was not being recognized by my MP500 printer. SOLUTION: I took a look at the chip contacts, and it appeared there was a blot of dried glue on one of the chip contacts. I got some tweezers and carefully removed the glue. Problem solved!! My MP500 recognized the ink and everything works great! But even if a couple of the cartridges were unrepairable, the value would still be AWESOME. That small risk is still worth the price. (2) A few of the cartridges had a small pool of ink when I opened the orange "twister" cap. SOLUTION: Open them UPSIDE DOWN (seems obvious to me, but some people...), and do so over a sink. (I even used to do this with standard Cannon ink... it's just common sense) If there is a small pool of ink, just dab it with a paper towel and you're set to go. And for god's sake, don't open them over an expensive rug the way one reviewer here did!! Why would you even do that with the standard Cannon cartridges? Really? With this generic ink, you do get what you pay for--good ink at a reasonable price. With Cannon ink you do NOT get what you pay for, you get extorted in a way that would make the mafia proud. And the print quality? I can tell no difference at all. If you are into high quality printing, you might be able to tell, but I doubt you'd even be looking for budget ink in that case. Would I put generic off-brand ink in a brand new printer? Probably not, but as printers get old, the price of buying ink becomes more expensive than buying new printers! This is the PERFECT solution for my trusty old PIXMA MP500.

So far I have only tried 2 magenta cartridges. 1 did not work, the second worked just fine. Both Amazon and the seller (Sophia Global) were fast to fix the problem. As others have mentioned, if you squeeze the cartridge a little on the sides some ink will come out, if you hold it by the sturdier parts on the top it should be just fine. I would not hesitate to buy these cartridges again.

I have tried non Canon branded ink for my MP530 and they have never worked or they didn't have a chip so you had to turn off your ink monitor or swap out the chip from the tank you were replacing, the ink ran all over the place, etc, etc, blah blah blah....Well, it was time again to get some ink for this printer which is still running strong and prints flawlessly. I ran across this set and read through so many positive reviews here at Amazon that I had to give them a shot. For under twenty dollars I figured I had nothing to lose. Even if I ended up with only one working set I would have still come out way, way ahead. I replaced every one of the colors and one of my black tanks and printed a test pattern first and then a 4x6 picture. Color is great, there was ZERO ink spillage, they already had the chip in them and my printer thinks that I installed original ink cartridges! The trick with these, and I thank another reviewer here for the tip, is to not hold the cartridge on the sides! Doing this will squeeze the middle of the tank and surely squirt ink out of the bottom. Hold the cartridges on each end while lightly twisting off the protective cap and you won't get any spillage. Then make sure you rip the little plastic off on the top so that you are only exposing a little area that allows it to breathe. Don't try and rip it all the way off, that will cause problems. I have to say that the guys posting negative reviews about these were probably being way to "rough" with them. If you rip into these like you do with the OEM's you WILL make a mess and ruin the cartridges. PROS: I got 15 cartridges which allows me to replace each one THREE TIMES for eighteen dollars. One single 4 pack (which doesn't include the BIG black tank) of the OEM ink is over FORTY BUCKS! The chip is included and works exactly like the OEM! High quality ink Perfect fit, easy installation, and again, NO MESSING WITH CHIPS! CONS: Nada. Nothing. Zip. Wish I had come across this "generic" manufacturer years ago. (I'm thinking it took a bit to get the chip right. In the past with the ones that weren't Canon, but had a chip, it was enough to trick it into allowing you to use the cartridge but it wouldn't reset the ink status. Other brands would have you pop the chip out of the canon tank but you would end up with the same results. The chips they use in these work perfectly.) EDIT: 2-27-2012 OK! I just ordered another set of these ink cartridges for my still-happy MP530. Out of that entire previous 15 pack I only ended up with ONE yellow one not wanting to play nice. This new set is actually made BETTER than the previous set AND I only paid around ELEVEN DOLLARS for the whole set! This new pack doesn't make you twist off the protective cap. Instead you just push in a little tab and it lifts right off. I just reloaded every color in my printer and again printed a test page. As usual everything looks perfect. My parents also own this exact printer and 2 months ago called me looking for print cartridge alternatives. Just like everyone else they were shocked at how expensive the original Canon ink is. I gave them a link to this 15 pack and they had the same, perfect results as I did. So again, don't waste your money on the OEM tanks. As long as some common sense is used during installation you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck and happy printing!

I won't lie, I was a bit skeptical about buying off-brand ink, as I'd only ever bought Canon inks for my MP800 since I've owned it. But I have to say, I'd been getting tired of paying $15 a cartridge per tank (and more for the pigment black tank), so I came to Amazon to hunt for ink bargains.Lo, and behold, I stumbled upon this and am I glad I did! I was sure to read the reviews, and since it was a highly rated product by most people, I decided to give it a go. My order arrived within a week, and I immediately loaded up my printer with the cartridges it needed. Like other reviewers, I did not have trouble opening the cartridges...seems some people haven't learned the right way to hold these so they don't leak all over you! (hold it by the front and back, don't squeeze the sides--I learned the hard way) They snapped right in, and printed beautifully. I only print documents, not pictures, so I don't go through a ton of ink, but now that I know I can buy so many tanks for less than the cost of a pigment black tank, I might just have to start printing pictures here at home. Thanks, Amazon! |
