This item is perfect. I use it to plug my iPod into my stereo. There's no need for anything special despite what Apple may try to sell you, just plug the headphone part into your iPod, and the RCA into your Audio In on your stereo - voila! works in the car to. ;)
Anyway, it works great, no loss of sound quality and the extra length is very useful. Very pleased.

The item itself works fine and shipped fairly fast, but I was disappointed with something else. I had specifically been looking for a black cable so it would be more easily concealed. I was disappointed however, that the cable I received was NOT the one in the picture. It was thick and WHITE! But other than that, it works okay, I just wanted a black cable.
